Something to understand what nurses think about re the Current News and their opinions!

What I'm talking about is the wire hangers, the "Does Hallmark make a Mother’s Day card for a 13 year old forced to have her rapist’s baby??", the fear mongering that "they are coming for interracial marriage next" (but I'm certain gay marriage is going to be challenged and stands a good chance at being overturned with this bunch), the memes with the Handmaid tales, on and on. People need to protest for sure but show some common sense.
Are they talking about reversing gay marriage? The bunch?
I've been surprised a few times the past years.
However I do not think they would try and end gay marriage. There's difference. Gay marriage is between 2 adults from a consensual choice. And gay marriage does not end a life ,or whichever definition anyone believes a fetus it.

The hypocrisy is astounding, as is your feeble understanding of the first amendment.
Riots are okay for some but not.all. Protests are not riots depending on your beliefs or what's being protested.
It's okay to discriminate against certain groups but not others. Some groups cannot be racist and other groups are racists determined by their skin color.
It's fine for one sex to abuse the other but not visa versa.
There is no such thing as biological sex ,but there is infinite genders.
The hypocrisy is astounding indeed.

If a middle schooler doesn't feel comfortable sharing their gender identity with their parents, how is it the school's place to 'out' them?
The reasons why a kid may not feel comfortable sharing this could be they don't feel their parents would be supportive, but it could also be that they don't feel safe doing that, it's pretty clearly not the role of a school to put a student in a potentially unsafe situation.
If there is any safety issues about anything it should be reported to CPS. Any fear of harm to a child from parents for any reason, should be reported.
It's actually mandated by law for a school to report any reasons to suspect abuse by a parent.
If there is a situation where it's only a parent's support that's a concern, then appropriate resources should be allocated by the school. This could also involve supports for the parents too.
However I do not agree with having to tell the parents immediately. And I do not agree with the school knowing and not accessing the appropriate supports. Their job is to educate and focus on the students learning. Not managing family personal issues.

I didn't call anyone feeble. Read the relevant posts again. Big difference.
I heard this mom on the radio. Seems she is legit. The woke crowd going too far in schools.
I've seen a handful of similar transgenderism in our schools stories since I conceded that maybe the FL law was a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. I take that concession back.
Liberal indoctrination is a thing.

Who are "they'? Do you mean the Supreme Court?

This is disturbing.
Where in any other another topic would it be acceptable to ask children who they are sexually attracted too, talk about their private parts at school? By a bias party(no pun intended). There seems to be a veil of protection under the guise of LBGTQ inclucivity.
I would agree it takes the characteristics of indoctrination. In that if anyone were to object or criticize such "extra ciricular" classes, they are transphobic and evil and need to be destroyed.
The school itself is in a bad position. Do they hold these teachers accountable ,and end their employment and then get major backlash for it?
These classes were presently falsely to the student and held in secret. How is this even tolorated?
It's like a modern version to lure unsuspecting children. Kind of a new version of "hey little girl/boy, want some candy?"
Or, "can you help me find my lost puppy?". Only to isolate the unsuspecting child.

Who ever the "bunch" are as described by another member.
But sure. I don't think any entity would try and end gay marriage. Or make it illegal like abortion.
There may be some conservatives or Republicans that do not like gay marriage but understand that the majority of the population takes no issue with it. It's not a worth losing voters. However abortion involves a life to end ,or whatever definition people hold as to what a fetus/baby is. This is why they find it more of a worthy cause and accept this might cause loss of votes.
I really do not see the comparison.

No, I gave examples of the type of rhetoric that I was talking about.
Obviously gay marriage and abortion have nothing in common.
I think that given the fact that Alito and Thomas have already stated that the Court should overturn gay marriage, it's a real concern with the conservative majority that this could happen. Four of the justices that ruled against gay marriage are still on the court, and two that ruled for gay marriage have been replaced by conservatives.
I am hopeful that you're correct that it won't happen. That's not a certainty in my mind, but I remain hopeful.

I think it's wrong to pick out a student and lie to them and invite them to the meeting. Doubtful they just picked out a random student to indoctrinate, but the article doesn't explain why this student was targeted. However, to not be honest about what type of lesson they were going to is wrong.
That being said I don't think the lesson itself is "indoctrination". Things are a bit different than what I was used to when I was a kid and I don't think it indoctrination to educate, inform and accommodate to foster understanding and safety. Obviously other people feel different.
Quote“We can assume more students are coming out,” said Bethy Leonardi, Ph.D., Assistant Professor in the School of Education at Colorado University Boulder, and co-director of a Queer Endeavor, a non-profit organization that consults with local schools on LGBTQ inclusivity. “I don’t have hard data on this, but teachers have said, ‘More and more, students are coming out as gender non-conforming or gender-queer.’ That’s just what we are hearing.”
The spike in self-reporting could reflect the positive effect of school policies implemented in recent years in some Colorado schools that aim to celebrate kids like Ash and Skye, while protecting them from harm and discrimination and requiring teachers and other students to create more inclusive spaces and curricula for them.

To clarify when I said "this bunch", I mean the current Supreme Court.
Also, I wasn't making any comparison between gay marriage and abortion.
I can agree with the idea that politicians don't seem to be as interested in gay marriage, which is wildly popular with the general public, as they are abortion. But as I said in the post above, two of the justices seem to be.
