Something to understand what nurses think about re the Current News and their opinions!

I am beginning to wonder if Biden is planning to pull a trump in '24 and take over the country regardless of who wins? 

His ignoring the filibuster is very telling to me. It's a simple solution that solves all of liberal' s problems. Yet, he's not doing the simple things to make it go away. Why? 

You can bet your house that come '24, republicans will turn out with guns and threats etc even more than ever. Doesn't that play right into Biden's hands? 

Call out the National Guard and take over. Annul the election or postpone it until things are favorable to him. 

It's definitely one explanation for his reluctance to address the filibuster!

Biden cannot change the filibuster. It serves no political purpose for Biden to publicly talk about that Senate procedure, IMV.

He doesn't have to talk about it publicly, he could always let us know about the panda bears in Arizona and if they are going to Texas next? Or, does anyone know if Texans won't hunt them ??????

Can anyone script anything so stupid? The people you hired to tell you that you won, turns around and takes your money and tells you that you are a how many times LOSER!??

Texas is auditing because Trump told them to.

This highlights a point I've been making many times.  Trump still has his lapdogs and still has a lot of power.

I might agree that Democrats should accomplish their agenda as soon as possible because but not because it will help them but because of Trump's power and the Biden administrations many challenges such as the economy, the border, and covid are going to make 2022 painful.  I think this kind of was behind Republicans doing their voting laws changes so quickly, and Texas doing their anti-abortion thing so quickly, they got spooked by the 2020 election.  

2024 is still a toss up but more than likely Trump even if the doesn't run, will be a factor.  Since he's not going away, my hope is that Trump continues to divide and ruin the Republican Party and Democrats can take advantage of that.  But it looks like 2022 Democrats are going to running against Trump.  Cheney for example has to run against him and his supporters.

Seriously, where was she brought up? She was shouting at people like a mad woman having a street argument. Just what sort of people are they electing now? ???

She has widespread support her for stance.  You might see a mad woman but many people see her as standing up for what is righteous.  

She also highlights that it isn't just "old white men telling women what to do with their bodies".  While they might have the power and write the laws, many women are behind them supporting them.

Yep. 

Given the way that republicans have changed election laws in states, the fact that they are willing to claim election fraud when they lose, and their voting base will believe those claims  it's very possible that 2020 was the last free and fair election that we will have on this country.

It's likely that Cheney and her unwillingness to swallow Trump's lies will survive in today's GOP.

But there are fundamental social rules and especially re representation of our country. You don't think in today's world that this isn't going to be seen internationally? 

Surely if you end up in congress, you have some idea that you are not just representing your constituents, but the country as well. We are one of the countries that other countries follow politically. Especially now as the debt ceiling is being held to ransom. 

Why doesn't she address that issue? Loudly? 

Her people ran up the debt and now when it's time to pay for it, they want to tank the economy? To spite the Dems or America? 

You think she would learn that it's that sort of behavior that got her thrown out so she's absolutely useless to her constituents and she would change. But it's the Mike Tyson situation! You can take the man out of the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of the man.

Right wing media will engage in character assassination.  That's the best way to diminish her appeal to Wyoming republican voters.

Some 55+ years ago, I was in high school. In my history/civics class we were discussing this topic and the inability of Congress to change it.

Why? Because they filibustered the filibuster every time it came to the floor! It never got anywhere!

In 55 years, some things never change!

We can see pretty clearly now that the filibuster allows the minority party to behave as tyrants, if that is within the scope of their ethical, moral or political tendency.
