I took one test that evaluated me on math, critical thinking and my personality. Yes! Personality. Companies want to find out if you are the type of person that won't accept criticism, for instance. They want to know how would you react to certain situations and what your likes and dislikes are.
I had to take multiple tests for my current job, including math/pharmacology, EKG, etc. Some hospitals in my state are giving a test to see where your weaknesses are, so they can address this during orientation. They are general scenario questions, like if a patient has a pulmonary embolus, etc. Do brush up on your math~ none of the tests I ever took were multiple choice.

Thank you.
Ive had to take the Nurse Career Battery Test recently...its mainly a personality/psychological type test to see how you would deal with conflicts and helps HR/employers to gauge your judgement in different situations. Basically a way for them to weed out nurses. Depending on whether or not you "pass" you will be offered an interview. Not always fair but used quite often.

I just applied for my first nursing job, and they said something about a 20 minute tests that was required.
Can anyone tell me anything about it?
What is it?
How do I prepare for it? as I don't want to be locked out of a position or hospital due to a test.
