What did you take to orientation?

This may seem like a silly question, but I was just wondering what everyone took/is taking to orientation?

For example: I know we will be getting a lot of paper work and some books at my orientation (per previous students)

Did you take a snack? Lunch? (mine is from 9-4) water bottle? tote bag for everything they give you?

Just curious, didn't know if there was anything you wish you would have taken or maybe suggest taking? Sorry, just my OCD brain at work! Thanks! :)

My orientation is in two weeks :lol2: I'm planning on taking either a tote bag or my smaller backpack with a few snacks, money for a drink (or water bottle, hadn't thought of that! LOL), my 1/2 inch 3 ring binder with pockets in it so I have somewhere to stick everything, a notebook, my paperwork and some pens. Our orientation is from 9-1 :)

Mine was only 3 hours (including a provided lunch) and we did not get any books/supplies at the time. I took a larger, tote-sized bag (that could have fit my laptop if I wanted to take it). In the bag, I had 4 color pens, a highlighter, the orientation packet they had sent a few weeks before, notebook for notes, granola bars (as I had 4 hours of basic life support training immediately before orientation and often get hungry mid-morning) and water bottle.

My orientation is at the end of August and it's 2 days long/8am-4pm each day. The first day we are to bring our own lunch and on the 2nd day we are to bring a potluck item to share with everyone.

I haven't really thought about what else to bring. Hmm..maybe some pens because I am sure we will be signing things and a notebook to take notes. Oh and of course some water :)

Mrs. Priss...I think this was a great question to ask...I’m curious to know as well thanks to my good pal OCD here :specs: When you guys say..."you were able to get books" did you guys get your textbook list or did you guys go over to bookstore collectively to obtain books...?? Mine will be July 13th (8:30-5pm)!! Did they handout some type of syllabus? Hope I’m able to get one that day. Would be cool to start early before the fall. Im supppperrrr excited though:yelclap:

Every school is different...

It doesn't hurt to take paper/pen/pencils.

I would look specifically at the orientation letter to see if it calls out something specific.

We didn't get syllabus's as our orientation was for 1st-4th semester students so everyone was at different levels.

Mine is July 10th. We haven't been told how long it is, just a start time and that we need to bring our drivers license. I was just planning to bring a pen and notebook.

I wouldn't stress about it too much. I'd bring a water bottle, pen and paper, and a lunch. I would not recommend buying your books at the school's bookstore. I saved over $300 ($500 instead of over $800) buying books on Amazon and half.com, in hindsight I wish I had bought older editions of all the books, but that may not be your thing. If you need to bring anything school related (drivers licence, etc) I would assume they would let you know that ahead of time. Good luck!

When I had orientation last year we didn't really have to bring anything except a pen/pencil. The school provided us snacks since we were there all morning. They provided us all our info in a folder and gave us a take home sack full of stuff.

If you are hypoglycemic like me I would suggest an additional snack or two. Also don't forget water!

My orientation is August the 22nd; 8am- 5pm

I was thinking of the same thing, I think that's all I will need. Not sure if the school will provide lunch or not, if not I will get a snack from the snack machine.
