What is your schedule like?

Published

Hi All,

Just curious, what does your typical schedule look like for those who work full time? Do you work in blocks? If you work nights, does your schedule change?

Thanks!

Three 12 hour shifts per week, every other weekend off. Two weeks on days (7A-7P), then two weeks on nights (7P-7A). Two Mondays and two fridays must be worked each month. If you want, you can work seven days per week (lots of overtime). Usually, three shifts is all I can stand.

I work three 12's a week on nights 7p-7:30a. We self schedule, with very few adjustments made by our NM. We also can pick up extra shifts when they are vacant and get called in on a rotating basis when census in high. When that happens we get a bonus. Every other weekend and every other holiday are supposed to mandatory, but as long as the shifts are filled this is not enforced.

I always have Monday through Friday off. I then work two 16 hour shifts, one on Saturday and the other on Sunday. In my area, this type of schedule is known as the Baylor plan, bacause my workplace pays me 40 hours for working 32 hours over the weekend.

I work 3 12's a week from 7p-7a. I work every other weekend, but somewhere around the 1st of the year we are switching to every 3rd. Right now my schedule is based on 2 weeks. The first week I work Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and the second week I work Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday. So on my weekends I work 3 days in a row and on my weekends off I get 4 days off in a row :)

I work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. 7p-730a. I get paid more and save money on daycare. One of my two kids will start kindergarten and I would like her to be able to come home after school. Hubby takes on the Mr Mom role on the weekends. So far it works out well. ...So far.

I work every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. We self schedule. Every few weeks I'll give myself a break by doing the first part of one week and the last of the next just to have a week off.

Me too, except for I do Sat, Sun, and Mon. I make more money for working on the weekend plus there is less riff-raff around! I ALWAYS work 3 in a row so I can have the benefit of 4 days off in a row.

When I worked ER I did 12's in 2-week cycles: M-T, S-S, W-TH. Now I work HH M-F. I choose my start time unless there are meetings, and I end about 8 hours later. Weekends and holidays off unless it's my turn to be on call.

Work 12 hr shifts. Usually 3-4 in a row. I work ER. The only reason I do that is because I go a long way to work. I stay in a hotel while I'm there. I gett sooooo, worn out though. (but then I'm an old lady of 48). I think my schedule works out well like that. I've seen horendous schedules though. like every other night .......that would be the worst !

I work a mixture of shifts..either 0730-1500 or 1330-2100 for any 5 days out of 7 up to a maximum of 10 shifts in a row. I do 7 nights 2030-0745 every 6 weeks then a week off afterwards.
