What does R.N. J.D. mean??

Updated:   Published

A professor at my school has J.D. after her R.N. and before her Ph.D. What does this mean? Thanks

Juris Doctor-- otherwise known as law degree.

If they took their bar exam (and passed), they're an attorney.

RN, JD, PhD-

WOW. What a super-educated person. Is she a good instructor?

Haven't had her yet, she is only my advisor right now but only hear good things about her :)

If she is a caring person who loves to teach, you'll have a wonderful opportunity to learn from her!

Good luck to you.

How fortunate you are to have an instructor with these credentials!! I wish I had!

Your entire nursing program benefits from her expertise I'm sure...particularly in this day and age. :)

Just curious - where do you go to school?

Are you talking about Dr. Mann? She has a law degree; she is a nurse midwife and a great instructor. She can explain a lot of the history about midwives and how they were viewed in the past. A great educator!

Maybe she's not who you're talking about.. but I think you go to SJSU?!?

Specializes in Specializes in L/D, newborn, GYN, LTC, Dialysis.

I have been to conferences at which RN lawyers spoke. INSIGHTFUL, believe me.

You are correct! It was back to school today. Spring semester finally started, hopefully my last "free semester" before nursing classes.

I guess you're out of luck if you try to challenge her on those test questions you missed :chuckle
