I am taking my LAST pre-req this fall which is microbiology. I plan on filling out my nursing application for the program in September after I take the TEAS test. Then at the end of December or beginning of January I will take my CNA 1 course and keep my fingers crossed for an acceptance letter April 2014. Good luck to you too.
Starting the program August 26, orientation is Monday, and I'm a nervous wreck. But, I'm as prepared as I can be, have all texts, scrubs ordered, vaccinations galore, and I have made the deadlines on Certified Background for all but the flu shot, which isn't available yet. I didn't realize how much prep goes into just getting IN to nursing school. Are there any other degrees that you actually end up taking enough credits for a bachelors but end up with an associates? And same can be said for BSN. By the time BSN students are done with pre reqs and their program they have been going to school long enough for a masters! Oh well, two years down in pre reqs, two years ahead in NS.
Well...in just under a week I begin my VN program. Uniforms are on order, all my goodies are purchased, been vaccinated for diseases that haven't evolved yet, and have had an intense relationship with Accesa Labs. So, I've got a foot and a half tall stack of textbooks, skills bag (complete with Foley cath kit & lotsa syringes) and am only lacking a Littman steth to make my life complete.

I too am a mother of two and working full time and have decided to make a complete career change to nursing. I am completing all of my pre-req courses throughout the next year. Those include A&P I& II and microbiology. I also need sociology and developmental psychology but i will be completing the CLEP for those credits. I am applying for the 2015 evening weekend program at Mercy School of Nursing here in charlotte! Good luck to everyone!!

What is everybody taking this fall? How long do you have before you start your nursing program?
I am taking Stats (online, Yuck!!!), Nutrition and intercultural studies. I work full time and am a single mom of 2 so this is plenty for me!
After this semester I only have three classes left!! Micro, history and an elective (probably abnormal psych).
I should start nursing at Maryville University in August 2014!! I am SOOO excited! I will find out if I am accepted in late February!
