Right now 76% is passing. I guess next semester they are bumping it up to 80%. Scary- eek!

Yikes! Our school says 77%, so I guess we are in-between.

At my school in MO, passing is 75%, no rounding up and 74.9% is failing. This is my first semester though, so I don't know if they change percentages as we advance.

Mine is also 76%. I don't know, the not rounding up thing sounds so harsh. Does that .1% really make you that much better of a nurse?! I'm not sure if my school does rounding or not. Hopefully I won't have to find out! I am still in my freshman year now but the same thing still applies.

75% here, and the final grade is rounded.
we do have to take the exit HESI though, and pass with a 900 to graduate.

82% for us - that is tests. You can have a higher score with your assignments and papers and still fail if your test grades are not above an 82%.
And yes, we lost 2 students last year, both with an 81.7% because that is failing.......

I feel blessed! 70 is passing. We have a standard grading scale (A is 90-100, B is 80-89, C is 70-79).
Edited to add: we have to have a 3.0 overall to continue each quarter because we're also taking graduate level classes. This quarter our clinical course accounts for half our GPA, so we pretty much have to get an 80 in that course to move on.

Passing grade is 80% at my school. They tell us that is why the school's nclex pass rate is higher than other surrounding schools with lower grading scales. I can see where that makes sense, but it sure makes for a lot of failing students.

Ours is 80%. It has been that way since I've been there, and for many, many years. 92-100 is A, 86-91 B, 80-85 C...
anything below is failing. I've come close twice, but both times, I've pulled myself outta that hole!
You can do it...
I second Land64Shark's comment about NCLEX...
My school's passing percentile is 80% and our NCLEX pass rate is 100%. When comparing with other local schools (who have a lower passing percentile), their NCLEX is much lower.

BSN program. No nursing class final grade less than an 80 (no rounding) and a Math for Meds final exam grade of 90 or better to progress in the program, no other class less than a 75. A 3.0 or better to take the grad level classes. 95 - 100 = an A, or a 4.0. !00% NCLEX pass rate.
