I'm thinking about working a few extra shifts to help out with our down payment for a new home and a few upgrades for the house. I generally hate doing my normal 3 12's but when I know I'm working toward a goal, that eases the pain. I'm thinking about doing 2 12's and 2 8's and exempting taxes during that time. I'd bring home between 4-5000 thousands once shift diffs and OT pay kick in. It will definitely be a one time thing ( maybe twice if I survive).
So how much OT have you worked and what was your motivation ?

The most OT I've worked is 17 twelve hour shifts on a row. And probably about 4 of those were 16 hour shifts. And I did it because the hospital let us stack our ot and pool pay so the ot days were like $60/hr! I was saving up to move at the time
Wow!!!!!!!! I bet your check was nice !!! If I were not moving I definitely won't be doing any OT, I just don't want to have to dip into our CD's so I guess it'll be worth it in the long run.

Did 64 hrs total one week and parents were mad i didn't do the full 72 bc I took a day off to sleep even with advanced approval. I'm leaving that case. Never getting taken advantage of again...never gonna let people monopolize set hours in their favor. Feel like crying

I have never worked overtime (unless you count staying later then my regularly scheduled shift, though no more than 1 hour).

No more than 1 extra shift so a total of 48hrs for a week vs 36. That was due to mandatory overtime.

I don't do a lot of OT. I have 2 kids and am in school part-time for my BSN so I already feel overwhelmed! The most I'll ever do is an extra shift in a pay period.

The most I have ever worked in one week is 72 hours. I need at least one day off to do laundry. :)
I currently work 3 12s at my main job and 2 12s at my PRN job per week, so I guess that doesn't count as overtime. Before I got my PRN job, I routinely signed up for 5 12s a week.

I once did 104 hours in a nine-day span. NEVER again. (I'm tired just thinking about it!)

3 extra shifts in a pay period, I only worked 6 days straight. I stayed at the same tax rate and brought home 4500$, not too shabby for two weeks. It was also for a down payment. I actually try to work an extra shift every pay period, and make it a 16 hour shift. This pay period, I'm doing an extra shift, I stayed over once for a 16, and claiming 8 hours of CTO for pismo beach next month. :) I have a coworker who did I think 21 days straight or something similar, his check was insane for 2 weeks, but after the taxes they took out. (About half) can't say it was worth it.

I used to regularly work more than 130 hours in a two week pay period but can't do that anymore lol! I work in a clinic now and most days I stay 30-45 mins. over, or about 2 hours or so OT per week.
