What kind of watch do you wear?

Published

I start clinicals this semester, and out of everything I need to do to prepare, you'd think picking a watch wouldn't be a big deal. But it is. :o

I never wear a watch and don't own one. What kind should I get? The only requirement from my school is that it has a second hand.

Do you have a favorite brand or style? Anything I should avoid?

A Timex with a stretchy wristband. I got it at Walmart for $30 and it's prefect! Small, waterproof, and easily slides up my arm so I can wash up past my wrists. This is the one I have.

This is mine. I love it..because I can wash and sanitize it! Women's Ironman Sleek Watch - Black/ Purple : Target

I got the one at walmart that has a white rubber band, glow in the dark hour and minute hands, and the second hand sweep. The face is a little bigger so it is easily seen from a distance. It cost me $11 and is waterproof to 100meters.

I've been told cheaper is better. All I have are not cheap watches, so that's what I've been using, but I'm planning on hitting up Walmart for a rubber watch of some sort (nickel allergy).

Just ordered this watch off of Amazon for my daughter. She starts nursing school next month.

Amazon.com: Prestige White Scrub Watch: Health & Personal Care

I'm thinking about buying that prestige watch from amazon as well. :-)

Where i work wrist watches are not allowed as per our Infection control nurse. We have to wear pin on watches or no watch at all. Most of us wear no watch.

I have a digital gold timex with a stretchy band. It's perfect for clinical. You don't have to take it off to wash your hands.

I had both a white rubberized one from wal-mart for $10 and a turquoise one from Target for $12. I got ALOT of compliments from patients or their family members on the turquoise one. The couldn't believe it when I told them I got it from Target. We had all white uniforms so the color stood out :)

I just saw the clip on type at OfficeMax today and thought about picking one up. It was around $5 I think.

My husband just got me a Citizen Eco-Drive watch as a gift, celebrating the start of nursing school and finishing my EMT program :) I need a light- or movement-powered watch without a battery, because something about my body chemistry kills watch batteries within weeks. This is my new pretty. I love it! http://m.princetonwatches.com/controller?R=BM8180-54A
