There's an interesting thread floating around here asking what topics members hate to see. I thought I'd switch things up with one asking what types of threads we actually like to read and respond to. (Please pardon that glaring grammatical error.)
Some of my personal favorites include the articles. These are often entertaining and almost always educational. I also love the real-life stories about nurses being patients, the ones about the positives of nursing, and of course the funny ones and the WILTW threads.
Anyone care to share?
Can I be totally honest?I like reading the threads started by nurses whom have somehow gotten themselves into a hot, hot mess. I like to think about, what would I do in this situation? I like reading the replies. I like offering advice, if I can.
Yes! I like learning from the mistakes of others.
I like the posts on personal experiences at work and/or the ones presenting a perplexing situation looking for advice and help. I especially am interested in anything related to legal aspects of Nursing and the BRN/BONs. I love the funny ones and the ones that are informational. I haven't been able to skip a day on this site since I first discovered it. The diverse attitudes and opinions are eye-opening.
I had to think about this one for a couple of days. I registered my account a number of years ago when I was just becoming a nurse. I never really visited here, until lately. I've kinda taken an interest in keeping my "fingers on the pulse." Plus.... sometimes I can read and talk about issues that we have a common concern. And sometimes I can just laugh out loud with my fellow colleagues.
I found out tonight that my favorite topics are those that are not followed or studied. There was a topic tonight that was discussing body cameras. I could not find one single study that addressed the question. There are studies addressing almost any conceivable idea in healthcare.... but not this (from my research sources.)
My point is, I appreciate new ideas that we can discuss intelligently. I think it's fun to reach out and think critically.
