The Birkenstocks i tried on were horrible. Expensive, and for that kind of comfort, it would be cheaper to walk on a concrete floor barefoot.

I got a pair of Dansko Professionals on ebay for $50. I also got a pair of Nike Air cheerleaders (yeah, they're made for cheerleading, but they were only $20). My school is really particular -- no open backs or toes, all leather, all white (with a small amount of blue allowed).

I thought it would be better to have two different types of shoes to alternate between. Classes start on the 26 then clinicals begin 3 weeks in, so we'll see.

My husband's stepmom swears by her Birkenstock's. That brand is all she wears on and off the job. Even her motorcycle boots are Birks.

I have used the same model;white,-

for 25 years! Dale is a norwegian company and their health care shoes with "air system", but not too soft are excellent. I THINK THE MODELS NAME IS "CLOUDS"

Doctors, physiotherapists, nurses - everyone who use them cant use anything else at job.

NOK: 1500.- X DOLLAR CA 8.00

Call the shop: PLESNER-MEDICUS : Running - labb (løpelabb);) :)

I alternate between Dansko and Merrell's for work. Merrell is the popular hiking shoe company, and they build a LOT of cushion into the shoe. I wear casual Merrell's at home, and they cured me from plantar fascitis (a painful heel). My sister, a surgeon, recommended these two brands, and I've never regretted the price tag.

For anybody with narrow feet, and find Dansko's are too sloppy , there is a narrow Professional model available, which a lot of people don't know! I ordered some from a local shoe company and they fit exactly right.

I've got a pair of Nursemates that I like a lot. My "dream" shoe is a dansko shoe...not clog. We're not allowed to wear clogs at our school.

Our school requires all white with closed toes and backs. I got a great pair of New Balance 440 ( I think) that are wonderful. Lightweight with lots of cushion and support. Good luck!

They're cute, but aren't Docs heavy? You're gonna be standing/walking in these all day.

Well, I stand/walk in my current Docs all day long, and I love them. They are SO cushy. I used to wait tables in Docs.

I got a pair of Sketchers Premium. I can't WAIT to wear them...they are so comfy. I may go buy a pair to wear outside of clinicals.
