What happened to all my strenght to pass the exam?

Hi everyone, I recently just failed my NCLEX-RN for the fourth time and have just got back into studying again. I got my results and was below in one area but near or above in all the rest and felt confident this past time, however I have not been able to study. I want to take it again as soon as possible but everytime I sit down to read a book or take a quiz no matter where I am, I get that lump in my throat where I just want to cry. My Mom has been battling stage four cancer for a few years now and I've been home taking care of her sugery after surgery so things have been hard but my passion in life is to be a wonderful Nurse that I know I can be and will be but can someone tell me how they found the strength to go on again???? :crying2:

ZeldaJane--I am very sorry for you and this place you have found yourself in...I wish i had the magic words to give you but I do not. I know many have found great words of wisdom, and advice as well as comradeship in the Nclex forum under the students tab.

Best of luck to you and your family

ZeldaJane, what other options do you have?? ...none except to keep going and succeed. Nothing in our lives is failure all of it is one lesson after another to develop our character and make us who we are meant to be. It is so easy to say these words when one isn't the person going through the crisis but I can tell you I have had my share. Please do not give up, as I posted on another thread use the power of your thoughts to change your life. You can be a nurse it is all up to you...think it ...believe it...intend it ..no matter how many times you take the NCLEX. You map out the direction of your life..you decide. Is there anyone who can help you in the care of your mother? Family or friends?

Any community resources - Cancer Society? Volunteers? Respite care if needed even temporarily? Home Care?

If not, then accept the situation, take deep breaths, carry on, and set your mind to determination.

You can do it.

I wish you all the very best.

I'm so sorry that you have to study on. Can you take a couple of weeks and just destress? Then, hop back into that groove and go for it! I wish you all the luck in the world and beyond. You will do this!

I too am sorry for your stressful situation, I agree, if you can step away from the caregiver role and student role, just relax for a short time, possibly regroup, get a pedicure or manicure, do something for you. I believe you can achieve your goal and become a great nurse. Good Luck and God Bless.:redbeathe

I think that the stress over your mother has probably taken a toll on you by now, and this may be why you haven't succeeded on NCLEX, yet. One suggestion I have, is have you thought of sitting for NCLEX-PN? I know this is not your ultimate goal, however, maybe passing that may give you a bit more confidence, and if you have to work for now, at least some money is better than no money.

I am so sorry to hear about your mother, I know that is devastating. My heart goes out to you, and maybe for now, take a break for a few weeks to get yourself together.

Suzanne 4s plan really does seem to work very very well for NCLEX testing. I don't think I have ever seen a bummer post from anyone who has followed that plan.

I followed it through the first tip and was able to pass on the first test. I realy believe in you and that you can pass this test next time. Try to get away from the failure messages in your brain. Make the next test your first test and view your last attempts as practice attempts.

Wishing you the very best!
