I was charting a BM in our computerized charting & it asks me (from a drop-down menu) what the "texture" of the BM was. There were options like hard, soft, liquid, etc. One of the options for texture was "fecal." Can anyone describe what a fecal-textured BM is Gotta love computer charting!

That chart doesn't list the most feared Type 8.
Type 8: Stool has a mucous-like consistency, with bubbles and a foul odor (sprayed out). This may indicate unsafe amounts of alcohol and/or recreational drugs.
I totally want to post that Bristol chart in our break room!
you needthe bristol chocolate chart for that
This post reminds me of 2 things:
1. Ron White the comedian: "Have you ever taken a poop so big that your pants fit better afterward?"
2. When I was in nursing school an instructor told us that we were not supposed to describe a BM as having the consistency of chocolate cake batter, but she never said why not. I kinda figured it had something to do with not describing something as having a consistency of a food substance. Then, I could never figure out why we were describing phlegm as being "frothy." I never looked at a late or cappuccino the same and figured if they could ruin my cappuccino, I should be able to ruin their chocolate cake.
(and no, I have never described someone's bm as chocolate cake batter consistency)
