I only work part time nights and trust me in that work environment and with only 2 CNAs (who are the best in my opinion) and just me for 50 patients, some who belong in a psych ward... I have to destress.
My way is to Swim and do yoga.....I swim about 3 miles a week (a mile is 70 laps), and I do quite a bit of yoga on dvd sets, I use Wai Lana Dvds. I also meditate and do a lot of reading.
How do you de stress..........besides drinking just kidding.

Fill up the bath with bubbles, grab a glass of wine, chocolate, music, and chill for a couple of hours. Can't do that atm due to having a piercing in my belly, but when I get some waterproof dressings I'll be right back at it.
I cuddle my two dachshunds and watch them do the craziest things ever....
I go hassle my boyfriend and his family.
I go and dance the night away.
Netball is my best destressor, and my favourite thing in the world.
I have days where I refuse to get out of bed.

Today, one of my favorite ways to de-stress is reading, preferably with a cat nearby. There's something very soothing about reading while a cat purrs on or near you. :)
My other favorite way to relax today is to read to my little boy and then spend time cooking with my husband. I love nights like that.
In my younger days, when my body still worked properly, I loved to run and swim. After a good hard practice with lots of kick drills, I always emerged from the pool feeling as though my stress had been washed away. Both swimming and running are great ways to get rid of your stress - you can wear yourself out till you can't even remember what you were upset about in the first place.
