Im sure you all have days where the stress can be overwhelming. So, when its time to go home....what do you do to transition or destress? I like to play guitar, garden or crank up the radio and sing like Im on American Idol.......LOL

I had a question like this in my last interview and I said, 'I don't really get stressed, at the end of the day it's a job not your life!' And to be honest my personal life has been so stressful of late that I go to work to relax!
Good gossips with friends, getting out in the open air, browsing on here and helping other people with there streses! LOUD music on the drive home from work and singing and dancing in my car like a crazy person and letting loose! Other drivers must think that I'm crazy... hey ho!

I exercise at the health club, watch television, meditate, eat take-out meals, occasionally go on road trips, and spend loads of time browsing through these forums. :)

Beside logging on allnurses and reading all the wonderfull threads, I drive to the beach and feed my eyes with the wonders of nature. I call sick the next day if schedule to work and stay home to watch HGTV sometimes.

I throw sticks for my dog to catch! Crochet, read, go for long walks, and cook. Also a good hot shower is perfect.

I have found myself hanging out in the allnurses board alot lately. I also love to cook and find lots of recipes at my other favorite site allrecipes.com and I am a full blown shutterfly addict. I feel the need to make memory books for each kid and every grandparent every year and every year they get bigger.

I hear ya. I look forward to going to work now. No ringing cell phone, an excuse not to check my email, no loud neighbors.
I de-stress by slapping some Godsmack in my CD player and screaming along with them.
