Just thought it might be nice to have people to chat with over the course of this semester!
I'm taking:
A&P I
Statistics
Speech
Nutrition
School starts for me tomorrow!
Here's a link to the curriculum, Curriculum - it's super expensive, I got it used which is probably ethically questionable, but I just couldn't swallow the cost. After using it, it's totally worth it. It's a whole child approach and my oldest is thriving.
I'm a little nervous about actually starting nursing school too, but my 11 year old is excellent at staying on task, and at that point, she'll be nearly 13. We'll play it by ear, but I'm hopeful.

I don't think there's anything wrong with getting it used. I know it can be tough to find it used, so I had half a mind to try to resell ours when we were done with it, but now we've taken to tearing out the week's work and putting it in a binder to keep better track of everything, so good-bye resale!
To put the cost into a different perspective, if you look at the weekly cost, it comes out to less than $15 a week. They do have a payment plan, too, but it's probably broken into two payments, not 40. :)
The enrolled option costs $70/week, which is obviously much cheaper than a private school. Certainly it still requires work on my part, but so does traditional schooling. Besides, we have to make the decisions that work for us, out kids, age or circumstances right now, and be open to dealing with change.
Lifeisnow11, I give you a lot of credit for realizing you needed to make a change and following through with it. You may go back to homeschooling some day or maybe you won't, but either way, you did the best things for your kids at that moment.
I have my test on the Muscular System on Friday. This chapter is not hard compared to my previous one, Skeletal System. It is flowing.
After the lecture we had, I feel like it's going to be much, much easier than the skeletal system for me, which is a relief!
My skeletal system lab exam got me a 75 - ouch.
Nutrition test tomorrow, and two quizzes and I'll be done for the week. Woot.

This is for enrolled tuition; if you click on the K-8 Price Sheet link, you can see what the materials packages cost. For 6th grade, the package costs $515, but we purchased it during one of the two yearly sales OM offers, so I think the total came to about $500 with shipping. I realize that may be pricey for some families, it has really worked well for us. Everything is there that we need!
