When I first became a nurse, I was ecstatic when I went to my local uniform store to buy my first pair of scrubs. I walked in and immediately saw tons of colors, fits, fabrics, and sizes. But everything I tried on was wrong in some way. Top was too short, pants were too long, pockets were in the wrong place, etc.
I need help with a little research I'm doing. Since becoming a nurse in 2009 I have always wanted to design scrubs that would fit well and be stylish and comfortable. And when is a better time to do that than NOW!?
So...what would YOU change about the scrubs you own? What has kept you from buying scrubs you've tried on in the past? Are your frustrations the same as mine were 5 years ago? Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated!!
Thank you nursing friends!!

As a male nurse I would like to see more scrubs with designs for guys. Also never enough pockets

Fix it so everything doesn't fall out of my pockets when I sit down.

Make the pants that actually have pockets in something other than junior cuts.
Pockets that are set up for lefties, too. Cargo pockets are amazing, but they need to be on more than the right leg.

I personally don't like the scrub tops that just have one long pocket in the front that goes all the way across as I lose things in there or they fall out. I like to keep my left and right pockets separate. Pens go in the right, phone and Chapstick in the left. I also like having the side leg pocket as in cargo pants as I often put my stethoscope in there instead of around my neck.

Pants that don't fall off if you have no hips.

I like them to be wrinkle resistant, fitted but breathable with lots and lots of pockets. I like the tops to have 2 on each side at least and would love to see some on the sides. I like the pants to have two on each leg and two in the back. :-) Also love the soft material, not the stiff itchy kind.

Soft material for sure. I cannot stand the stiff material.

V-necks that aren't so low!

A pen pocket. All scrub tops used to have two front pockets, one on each side, and the right pocket had a smaller pen pocket; you can't find that anymore. I hate the Cherokee scrub tops that have the unipocket (more like hand warmer) that goes all the way across the front so you can't actually use the pocket.

I have really narrow shoulders and every scrub top I try on is way too big in the shoulders which means that the V-neck sits so low on me that I don't dare bend over at all. I buy the butter soft scrubs with the V-neck and then the little patch of fabric sewn into the neckline, but then I take that fabric out and buy more that I can sew in so it sits higher. I'd love a good scrub top that looks nice, but is modest.

I just wish I could wear whatever color I want.
