I came across this is little story today, it's not breaking news. I suspect that a member of the housekeeping staff knows something about the bomb threat that required the sweep for weapons.

QuoteAccording to police in Secaucus, the bomb threat — which later was determined to be bogus — was called in to Hudson Regional Hospital on July 18. During a search, bomb detection dogs led investigators to an unlocked office closet containing dozens of firearms.
Among the weapons were 11 handguns and 27 rifles or shotguns, according to police. The closet also contained a .45 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a high-capacity magazine that was determined to be an assault rifle, and a 14-round high-capacity handgun magazine.
The arrested the guy the next day.
What the heck do you think this guy was doing? It sounds very ominous that he was keeping those weapons there.

Your statement sounded like you were advocating for something new. I'm sure you do realize that the judicial branch of govt is independent of the others, even if you only believe it is when it acts in the interest of the liberal agenda?
That's one of those rhetorical questions designed to encourage the reader's critical thinking skills.
I also meant to ask...you said you were disappointed in Judge Carroll, but glad that the Master Judge and the Circuit Court panel were showing us how the "rule of law should work". Is there anything that qualifies you as being knowledgable in this subject? To me, it simply sounds like your opinion comes from your hatred of all things Trump. I feel like if or when the master Judge or Circuit Court Panel makes a decision favoring Trump, they all of sudden will be pandering to a certain political party and their electorate.

However, to make electric car batteries, elements such as lithium graphite, nickel, and cobalt need to be extracted from the earth and processed, and according to new research, we have a pretty good idea of just how much we’re going to need. And it’s a lot."
My question would be is it better for the environment than fossil fuels. Not only for the climate but the eventual depletion of oil.
It does sound like mandates are hasty and EVS do use up resources. There no magic pill for transportation of billions of people.

I agree with both that the mandates are hasty, and we don't know the true cost vs benefit of those mandates. And, that article didn't even cover what will be needed for the electric demands.
California can't even keep up with the current demands on their grid. Rolling blackouts, along with the blackouts for fire prevention reasons, every Summer. Kinda ironic that a few days after announcing the mandate, Govt Newsome had to ask people not to charge their EVs for a day or two. Doesn't seem possible to add the EV charging stations needed in the timeframe set.
More reasons to let the market develop without mandates.

Well said.
I am a capitalist but we've seen what happens when the market, I.e. corporations decide. They pollute, they lobby and don't always want to make the world a better and safer place. They want their stockholders enriched. I'm a stockholder so I get it.
But it does need to be thought out a bit more as you've pointed out.

Y’all have had 30-40 years to think it through. You collectively blew the opportunity to minimize the economic hit of climate change. This has become a salvage operation.

Not sure who "y'all" are, but car emissions and fuel economy have improved a lot over the last 40 years.
I know none of us would have cars if you had your wishes. Should just throw in the towel because it's too late?

True, capitalism doesn't always work in our best interest. But, overall it results in things that better our world.
I certainly don't have much trust in those who we elect to behave any better.
Good thing our border is secure.
"MESA COUNTY, Colo. — A Mesa County Sheriff's Office deputy who made a traffic stop on Interstate 70 on Wednesday morning found tens of thousands of fentanyl pills in the vehicle."
And, then this:
"Officers confirmed the driver of the vehicle was Octavio Gonzalez-Garcia. He is 37 or 38 years old and residing in the U.S. illegally, according to evidence found of an apparently falsified Green Card and fake Social Security Card recovered from his car."

It's interesting that today the political prejudices which seem to corrupt our judicial processes call themselves conservative while their strategies and tactics are representative of right wing extremism.
