What caught your attention in the world today?

I came across this is little story today, it's not breaking news.  I suspect that a member of the housekeeping staff knows something about the bomb threat that required the sweep for weapons.

According to police in Secaucus, the bomb threat — which later was determined to be bogus — was called in to Hudson Regional Hospital on July 18. During a search, bomb detection dogs led investigators to an unlocked office closet containing dozens of firearms.

Among the weapons were 11 handguns and 27 rifles or shotguns, according to police. The closet also contained a .45 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a high-capacity magazine that was determined to be an assault rifle, and a 14-round high-capacity handgun magazine.

The arrested the guy the next day.

What the heck do you think this guy was doing? It sounds very ominous that he was keeping those weapons there.

Truth.  There's one here (not TMB) that I tend to ignore.  BTW, name calling is a violation of the TOS.  Just sayin'

No more so than much of what you post is to you.  As I wrote previously, this is just an example of what you frequently do; respond to an innocuous with repeated off-topic and/or challenging questions.

What say we call a truce on this and move on to other topics?

Truce? Did you view this as a battle? I've already engaged in other discussion, as have you.  Maybe you can let this go now that everyone understands that this exchange has simply been about your opinion of my style of commenting.

Truce might not have been the best choice of words as I never viewed it as a battle.

While I think indoctrination might be a strong term, your article did note that there is some benefit in participating in JROTC, I agree it should be voluntary.

Thanks for posting as I somehow missed this.

Indoctrination is a strong word but use of strong words is sometimes necessary and beneficial when trying to elevate an issue. I think that a case can be made to support use of the word. Yes, participation should be voluntary and it doesn't sound like it always is. Yes, participation in group activities which encourage team work, dedication and loyalty to an honor system with hierarchy can be very beneficial to adolescents, in my view.

As I said, I've been led to believe that the Democrats are morally and ethically superior to the Republicans. Shouldn't then our expectations be higher?

Pelosi could conduct her own investigation, such as a meeting with AOC, and dish out her own discipline.

Save the trouble of a investigation, as Subee suggests.

Why would Pelosi not let the committee do their job?  The news just broke a few days ago and it's the weekend now.  You're just making up a "what if" to make up a fake criticism.  Disappointed.  (I'll say it for you "be disappointed all you want...)

But yes.  Take Al Franken for example resigning over a decades old photo.  A good man that was passionate about his job.

You elected a man that committed adultery multiple times, engaged in "locker room talk" and paid off a Media star.

I feel confident AOC will be held accountable by the congress as a whole, not just the Democrats separately, for any improper actions.

I think you just want to move on.  You seem to be as tired talking about it as I am reading about it.  LOL

Is that how you believed you used the noun?

The lead story on Fox is a story about a former Navy Seal transgendered woman, now man, that is detransitioning.   Robby Starbuck is making the point that "His story was used as propaganda to allow trans people in the military and to popularize the issue. Now Chris is ready to expose the truth."  Beck, even though he says he went on CNN and isn't a victim, is now anti-trans and feels victimized by CNN.

They also show a picture of him when he was a she speaking at an ACLU convention.  So I'm not buying into the idea he was used by CNN and victim.  He was an activist.

But Fox News wouldn't use him to promote the anti-trans agenda of Republicans now would they?   This is the most important story in the world right now, it's not their propaganda machine kicking in.

Migrants unexpectedly show up in Denver.  Initially it was unknown where they came from but apparently they are from El Paso.  El Paso, a "Dem Run City" with a Mexican American Mayor,  is apparently asking for in-land areas to help out.

U.S. authorities have apprehended a Libyan man suspected of constructing the bomb that destroyed a passenger plane over Lockerbie, Scotland in 1988, killing 270 people, including 190 Americans.

That's a lot of years.  I'd forgotten there were so many Americans on that flight.  Must be a relief to the families.
