One thing that I always have a problem with is hanging on to pens. Either I put them down or loan them to someone, and then I can never tell which ones are mine..... I have been known to go through 4 pens in one shift!!!!
So as a graduation present to myself I have ordered myself personalized pens from a wholesaler that have my name, RN on them. This way I will always know which pens are mine and can go around and collect them at the end of the day, and it will be neat to see my name and new title on all of my pens. They actually don't have to be that expensive either. I got 150 ballpoint click pens in my choice of color with my choice of writing color for $85 + shipping and handling. Granted I couldn't really afford it, but I felt like doing something fun just for me to commemorate my accomplishment.
So, what did all of you do for yourself on graduation?
I want a nice ring to keep.... and i'd love a breast reduction! Have wanted one for years so when i get some money together thats what im having:)Would love a new mini cooper too at some point, and a holiday but they will have to wait i suppose
Don't wait for the breast reduction! Insurance will cover it! (Covered my 100%) I did it last Aug and I am so happy I did! I am 158, 5'6 and had a DDD-H cup and am now a lg C/small D. My back thanks me, and my hunch is nearly gone! Of course I waited until I was done having babies and nursing! My only regret? I didn't do it sooner! (My "baby" is 14yrs old!) BTW: at 18 I was a DD and 130lbs, so this was NOT going away w/wt loss!
Guess u might say it was my graduation present, early!

Hey guys: I haven't been around for awhile, with NClEX and starting a new job, I have been a little busy and stressed out, but now I am happy to say that the RN on my pens is finally true!!!!!
A few have asked how to order the pens- l got them through Best Buy lmprints- and boy do they come ln handy.
My husband and I will both be graduating this May....mine is the ADN and he will have two...Associates of Arts (worthless at this point, except for transfer) and an Associates of Criminal Justice. He has already transferred to the university and is working on his Bachelor's in CJ.
For our graduation gifts to ourselves, we will be first be socking away any money I make in the first 6 months (ALL of it) into our IRA. Then, when we find that perfect one, we will be purchasing a house! We have wanted a house since we married over 3 years ago, but as a family of 4 living on just under $50,000 a year, that was impossible in an area where the houses cost at least $300,000 for a decent house. So, once I began working, our income will more than double to around $105,000 and we will be able to afford the home we've dreamed of (for the most part....when the kids leave home, THEN we will have the home we dreamed of...LOL).
I would love to drive a new car or take an expensive vacation, but first things first for us. We desperately want a home for the kids to finish their childhood in (they are 5 and 8 now) and possibly add to our family with one of our own (the two we have now are his from previous marriage). So maybe after the house, a new baby?? Hmmmm.......
Melanie = )
WHEN I graduate in six weeks my first stop? The car dealership. I am finally getting that Dodge Grand Voyager I have been eyeing. We move to a new house later this week (still renting, but now in a MUCH better "ritzy" neighborhood). AND I will be getting my "real" wedding ring and band before the summer comes. Now I have a band with teeny tiny diamonds because we started our marriage quickly and cheaply...but I will be getting that 1.25 carat princess cut I've been envisioning for two years and can finally afford!
This is what I'm hoping to give myself as a graduation gift too (if I make it :chuckle) - a vacation!We've NEVER been on a family vacation - heck, my husband and I didn't even have a honeymoon!
I would love a vacation also, my husband and I never got a honeymoon either, and I have a 3 yr old and a 7 year old, both boys. Disney sounds great, doesnt it? If I can make it to the RN I put on the end of my user name, I will be thrilled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I feel so cocky using that RN now.):stone
