Hi
Sorry if this question is really weird or random..lol
I'm just curious, what bags do u guys bring to school?
Do u bring tote bag, backpack or rolling ones?
I'm starting next week, and i dunno what kind of bag to get yet.
Any suggestions?
Also, do u guys bring ur books? leave it on lockers? or just don't bring it at all?
thanks

Congrats to you for wanting to be as prepared as you can-very nice! When I was in nursing school, I brought my computer bag (it is the Swiss Army brand) because it has so many compartments and I could organize my stuff and be able to get to what I needed without rifling through everything. Nursing school is not like traditional school (in my experience) and you are not expected to bring every single book with you. You may not have to carry a lot of stuff with you.
I sincerely wish you well and hope that you succeed in your education. It is a wonderful profession!
PS-BTW, if you are interested in getting an e-book such as a Kindle or something along those lines, (I have a Kindle) I noticed that you are able to upload texts on many of these e-books which would save your poor shoulder! I have uploaded some surgical texts just to have them for reference.

I bought a good quality hiking day pack.
It has padded shoulder straps, a chest clip and a waist belt, lost of good pockets to organize as well as a padded pocket for my laptop.
I dislike the rolling bags because my campus is multi-level (built in to the side of a hill) so there's always stairs and I was really hurting my back lugging the thing up the stairs. With my backpack, once I put it on (snugly) I could carry it without trouble, no matter how heavy it got.

I use a NorthFace Hot shot backpack. Easy on my back and it's pretty stylish too. I usually bring the required books for class and books that I will need if I'm planning on working on some homework/assignments that day. I leave them in the car until i need them so I'll walk back to the car to get them if needed.
A rolling backpack sounds logical though but i hated those darn things ever since elementary school. Good luck you'll find what works best for you.

I used to bring the largest vera bradley tote they made, and had it loaded down with tons of stuff! My chiropractor said that I need to stop carrying such heavy bags or I'll be walking like an 80 year old in a few years with how bad my back is now. I would look for a good backpack with good cushion on the straps if you plan on carrying heavy nursing books. This semester I bought all my books on an app on my Ipad, best invention ever!! (and a LOT cheaper)

Timbuk2 Custom Messenger in Large. Its durable, the weight is evenly distributed and it's easy to clean.
I looked in to doing that!! But they don't have any way for me to annotate or highlight text....just a keyboard...bummer.

I never bring my textbooks with me. So I just use a regular ol' backpack for school. When I go to clinical I have a different bag that I bring with me--more like a huge tote bag.

I use a 14 year old Jansport backpack I bought freshman year at Ohio State.
