Greetings my fellow Nurses, I am aiming to begin WGU RN-BSN in Sept. Anyone else? Any current WGU students or Alum want to share any words of wisdom??
Congratulations to all of you for taking the leap to further you education. I will also be starting the RN -MSN in Nurse Leadership/ Management. Unofficially, my start date is Sept 1. I'm still waiting on my transcript evaluation, but it should be pretty straight forward since my ASN was earned at Ivy Tech. Good Luck everyone!

I am hoping to start Rn/BSn Sept 1,2014 also. For anyone in the program, is there anything I can do now to start preparing? What computer programs will be most helpful? I have been out of school 20years and am not familiar with power points or apa format. I hope a can catch on quickly, any advice would be appreciated.

I bought PERLLA and used it for both my BSN and MSN programs, and it was the best investment I ever made. It formats the APA for you (I couldn't do it manually if my life depended on it). LOL
There are others out there and even free programs, but I would definitely recommend getting an APA formatter. It will save you a lot of time.
Hi everyone, Good Luck to you all.
I am starting WGU September 1st also, I am excited and look forward to this challenge. I have to take 33 CU, I am planning to go no more than 12 mths, 6 mths if possible. From what I read it can be done. So we will see. I have my intake interview today I have submitted everything so I guess I am ready to roll.
Again GOOD LUCK to everyone starting September 2014
If you are somewhat computer literate, PowerPoint will be relatively easy for you to grasp. While I do not have PowerPoint at home due to the prohibitive cost of the MS Office package, all of my my workplace's computers are equipped with it. Therefore, I simply completed my PowerPoint presentations at my place of employment on my days off.I am hoping to start Rn/BSn Sept 1,2014 also. Luckily, writing is a personal labor of love for me, so I do not find APA formatting to be as difficult as people make it out to be. I can generate my bibliographies and in-text citations automatically without looking it up, but the Purdue Owl is an excellent and free website that tells you all you need to know about things related the the APA format. The link is below. Good luck to you!

It looks like a few of us are starting this fall! We should have a support group!
I was originally aiming to start the RN-MSN Leadership on Oct. 1st but with how quickly the admissions process has been going, I could start Sept. 1st. I only had 2 schools to request transcripts from, and as of today, WGU has received them both. Hopefully I'll know how many CUs I need to complete when I speak with my enrollment counselor again. I was really excited to learn that we do earn our BSN along the way. Now I'm looking forward to working on my next degree!
