I am already a FNP, but was accepted to SLU post masters AGACNP program. Will you be in the post masters or regular program? Will you be there Monday/Tues?

It sounds like he thought he found a golden goose. He did not have any intentions to pay you. He was going to "use" you but when that did not work, he decided to threaten you. Do check your state law, he may have squatters rights, which means he gets a 30 day notice. You need to start building a case...in nursing if it is not documented...it didn't happen. Make a formal complaint at the police dept. EVERYTIME! Next, most of our hospital insurance offers employee assistance program (EAP). Sometimes, built in to this is free law advice. So check with your HR. Now, as far as the BON, I would call them before he does. I had a patient to threaten me with this after I found out he was acting sexually inappropriately toward our nursing staff. He called....nothing happened. They said he sounded disgruntled and the complaint did not make any sense. Anyway...I hope this helps you. Good Luck, keep us posted. P.S. WELCOME! Here are a few tips that I have used and found helpful: 1. Email all of the course mentors for the classes you're enrolled in. Introduce yourself and ask for tips and study guides. They will send an email full of goodies that will help you in your courses and are not on the course site. 2. Create folders in your email acct labeled for each class. This will allow you to keep your inbox clear and you can add information, book codes, cohort information, study guides etc. as you get it without cluttering your inbox. 3. Print your Rubric for any papers you have. It is located in Taskstream (you have to register) which is under your assessment tab on course of study (cos) page. 4. You can go ahead and set up all of your papers or PowerPoints ahead of time. Copy and Paste the REQUIREMENTS from Taskstream in a new word document. This will allow you to do a section at a time without having to look back and forth in the WGU website. 5. Download ALL books, even if you aren't in the class yet. You will receive the book codes by email. Register, then download. The books can be found in COS site, click the hyperlink and it will take you where you need to go. 6. At the top of this page there is a tab that says "files" click it, there are tons helpful information from previous students. Some may be current some may not. Use your judgement. (Facebook Group) 7. If you want to follow or get notification on a subject that you may have questions about without typing (following or …..), On the post in the right hand corner there is a down arrow, click it and then choose follow or save for later. (Facebook Group) 8. You can ALWAYS find previous questions or answers on previous posts by typing the course number (C351) or the subject in the search box. We have all asked similar questions in the past so the information is at your fingertips!!! 9. Pace yourself. You have 6 months, if you move quickly and choose to accelerate...Great! University of Tn-Knoxville will accept a WGU graduate into their FNP program even though their GPA requirement is 3.3 BUT you have to take the GRE and have an "acceptable" score.

I was a LPN prior to getting my EMT. I am now a Paramedic (15yrs), RN for 8yrs and I was a LPN 13 yrs. I don't see EMT school helping much at all with LPN school. To me, nursing is a totally different ballgame than EMS. The thought processes are different. In four months, you are just starting to get a grasp of what is needed to truly treat a patient. LPN school offered me excellent clinical skills, which was beneficial toward my EMS career. msvolsrn

I graduated from Tennessee State University LPN-RN Mobility program in 2006. This is a weekend program that lasts for a year. It allows you to still work during the week and go to school on the weekend. msvolsrn

Lazarusstyles, I am sorry you are having to take Health Assessment again, I am starting the RN to BSN program Oct 1 as well and will have to take Health Assessment even though I had it in my ADN program. Hopefully we can move through it quickly! msvolsrn

I would recommend the program! I'll start Oct 1st, although I don't have the experience with taking classes yet, I can tell you the enrollment process was the best I've ever experienced. If you have an issue or problem, it's resolved IMMEDIATELY. If you have questions, they are also answered timely. GO FOR IT! Good Luck!

I've been officially accepted to WGU into the RN to BSN program. My start date is Oct 1, 2014. Can someone tell me the next steps to expect? My student portal isn't active yet. I plan on using the payment plan, but I can't set it up yet because the Oct payment link hasn't been setup yet. Thanks!
