Hi all,
I'm new to allnurses and haven't seen a thread on Western yet for 2015. Just wanted to start it to see who else is applying so we can all give each other moral support!
I saw that every year the application deadline is postponed? Do you think it will be happening this year as well?
No, but I stalked old threads and in the past the info was released by current Western students. Bro.nurse, can you help us out? :)
Also bro.nurse, how was the interview process like- typical interview questions or are there situational ones?
Thanks for volunteering to help us applicants!
For us, the onterview consisted of 7 questions. All the applicants were asked the same 7 questions. The questions were targeted to see and understand why the applicant wants to be a nurse, and what does applicant understand what it means to be nurse. The faulty also was interested in understanding what led applicants to apply for nursing program and why the applicants are interested in Western U ( WU ). In the end the faculty gives applicants a chance to ask questions. I feel that is the most important part of the interview process.
And I don't think there were any situational questions.
i hope this helps, if there is any other question, post it here.
Oh, so it was a group interview with multiple applicants and multiple faculty members?
This might be a personal question so feel free to not answer if you're not comfortable- How did you afford to pay for this program?
During Preview Day, I also fell in love with all the faculty I met and really believe them when they say it was a student-centered curriculum. I came from a public school where my classes were 300 students to 1 teacher, so I want a more personal experience this time around but don't think I can afford the near $100K the Western program costs
Hi all!
I'm new to this thread. Anyone received any news, hopefully good ones, from Western yet?
I went to Western's Preview Day last year and completely fell in love with the school. My only concern is the tuition of course. I'm trying my best to not let that be a factor, but it is definitely hard. For the current students, what would you say your yearly estimated cost is for everything (tuition, housing, food, etc.)?
I just got this email!
Dear Applicant:
Thank you for your application for the Master of Science in Nursing – Entry (MSN-E) Program at Western University. Due to your outstanding qualifications, you have been selected to receive an invitation to attend our “Early Acceptance Opportunity Day” in lieu of attending a formal interview. The early acceptance opportunity will allow you to visit our campus and meet with the College of Graduate Nursing faculty, staff and current MSN-E students to ask questions, tour the campus and to learn more about the MSN-E program. The Early Acceptance Opportunity day will take place on Monday, January 15, 2015 from 8:30am – 3:00pm. Your attendance at Early Acceptance day will add points to your overall application score and could potentially move you into the Direct Admit category. Should you choose not to attend or are not available to attend; you will need to go through the interview process in order to be considered for a seat in the MSNE class entering in August 2015.
Early Acceptance Opportunity Day: Monday, January 15, 2015 8:30am – 3:00pm
