Western University MSN-E 2015 Applicants

Hi all,

I'm new to allnurses and haven't seen a thread on Western yet for 2015. Just wanted to start it to see who else is applying so we can all give each other moral support!

I saw that every year the application deadline is postponed? Do you think it will be happening this year as well?

Hi Snailzy,

I recommend you meet the October 1 deadline if Western is where you really want to go. There is no guarantee that it will be postponed. I wouldn't suggest taking that risk. Good luck with your process!

I'm new here too! I'm surprised no one has made a thread for 2015 yet!

I just checked the Western website and they've extended it again to NOVEMBER 1ST!!! I'm nearly done with my application and already sent in all my recommendations and transcripts already so I'm probably going to turn in my application way before then but if you're still working on your application you've got some time!

Hello, I'm also new to this!

I submitted my application a week before the initial due date. I'm a little disappointed they extended the deadline, because I rushed some of my materials and wished I would had more time perfecting my app. What method did you guys do to send in your LOR? I sent mines through mail myself with all the envelopes sealed with their signature on it. I'm curious because I sent them in a week ago and it hasn't been updated, although it states on the tracking number that it was signed and received. I just hope it got to the department safely.

Anywho, i hope this forum stays alive, so we can keep in touch throughout this process :)

They didn't even send out an e-mail saying that the deadline had been extended until I got my confirmation they had received my application and then they said like us on Facebook for admissions updates and so I went on it just to browse and I saw that the first post was that the deadline was extended. :nailbiting: It's all right though because I'm done with that app and onto other ones. At least now I can make sure all my stuff got received and still have time to send it in if something didn't get there I suppose. :sarcastic:

I sent two of my LOR through mail and the last one my professor e-mailed it and I hope they got it.

I think they might have extended the deadline because they ARE SERIOUSLY SUPER SLOW on matching the materials with your application. I e-mailed EDS@WesternU and they allowed me to check my materials but the second time I asked she said to just log in and check the submitted application where they have a list of what was received. I think matching the materials with the application is what is taking so long. But maybe they extended the deadline for other reasons. Who knows? :o

I have sent my applications and required documents in September but for some reason my application isn't complete because they haven't received a lot of my transcripts and references. I have sent them via mail like a month ago and yet they said they still haven't received it yet even though I've checked with USPS and it says it's been delivered.

I'm getting worried because I've sent all my materials on time and I don't want them to last minute say that they didn't get a transcript or reference due to their slow process of matching the materials with the application and then have it be too late to send in the needed documents before the deadline. I hope they get their stuff together because I'm seriously stressing over this whole application process!

You will be fine! Don't worry. I know some other schools I tried to call in and check my transcripts and they said they don't check till later because they would be so busy checking everyone's transcripts and they give you a chance to send it in if they find that they didn't get it so hopefully Western does that too. I had called in to check before the previous Oct. 1st deadline and they said they got my stuff. I think it's just they are super slow in matching it with your application. You can also e-mail [email protected] and they will tell you! But they told me they are super busy right now so they might not tell you. But on my submitted application when I check they don't even have one of my transcripts updated yet even though they told me they got it when I called in.

Hey guys,

I agree. I got an e-mail stating that my documents were still not received to EDS and I turned all of my documents in by Oct. 1. They said to call them back on Friday so I will go ahead and do that.

Yeah, me too! I e-mailed EDS regarding a reference form yesterday and they told me that they will be uploading it by Friday too. Maybe their deadline is to get most of the materials matched up to apps by Friday.

I checked my submitted application yesterday and they had matched all my materials up with my application! So my application was listed as complete woot woot! I hope everyone's materials get matched up promptly too. Good luck to everyone! :D

Hi, I'm also applying to Western 2015. I didn't even know they had postponed the deadline until I read it here! But hopefully that's a good sign that those of us who have applied will hear good news :)

I'm not sure if that's a good sign though because that means more people are allowed to apply! Haha. I don't know...We shall see I guess.
