As a nurse with 20 years of experience, 4 years in academia, and a California RN license, I've struggled to secure a job in California for months. The opaque recruitment process, reliance on unprofessional recruiter, and inaccessible networking make it difficult to connect with decision-makers. Despite a streamlined work option/visa for Australians—employers often overlook its benefits. Rejections lack transparency, leaving applicants frustrated and unsure how to improve. This highlights the need for fairer, clearer hiring practices.
Have others faced similar challenges? Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to move to California next year, currently in Maryland (9 years experience in the UK), and been seeing lots of jobs posted online but have not applied yet. Were your recent experience in the US? And are they hospital-based? Most of the jobs I am looking at are bedside as I am currently working in a Tele unit.
