West Coast University?

Published

I'll be graduating from LVN school in November and want to go on to an LVN-RN program. I haven't done any RN pre-requisites and, at age 50, don't want to take the time to do so... so I'm looking for a program with "built in" pre-reqs. I'm curious about West Coast University but can't find much info about it. Please tell me what you know about it... thanks!

calstudent1967,

you are right. someone did say that cal state fullerton accepts students, as does university of phoenix, and i think, dont quote me on this, cal state long beach as well. there are a few, just not many that will accept wcu grads. you just have to do your research thats all. as with anything else you do.....

I really think that is good advice Karma. I would not move to California to attend WCU when you have been accepted into a tradtional, less expensive program. I am attending WCU but would go the other route if I was you. Best of luck!

Hello,

Does anyone know the start date for the LVN-RN Adn program anytime after August? I'd like to start somewhere around October so I was hoping a class would be starting around that time.

Thanks

It is the end of August - so the next start date would be 10 weeks later...

Thanks Calstudent.

Most welcome - do take as many classes as you can at a JC level... it will save you time and money. Best of luck!

You need Soc 1 - English 1 & 2 (if you are BSN), phys. 1, Speech, Phsy.2... that is what I can think of off the top of my head - your sciences of course.

I saw the new WCU campus in North Hollywood. Cross streets are Victory and St. Claire. Right off the 170. The building has been there for about 5 years but I've never seen it occupied. It doesn't have any windows .. but it does have a big parking lot in the back.

Specializes in SNF, home health.

wow, that's so close to home for me, I went to Concorde down the street. I definitely can't make anymore excuses about the commute! Gonna drive by the campus just to see what it looks like.

Did any of you have trouble getting a loan?

Can i use a grandparent as a co-signer?

I think you can use anyone you want with good credit - who is willing to co-sign but you should ask Financial Aide.

have u test out for english yet? how is it? do you do that when you took the class more than five years?>

Hi Vespagurl!

I just want to ask you, the $44,000 quote, exactly which classes they deducted from the $68,000? I just want to have an idea how much they will quote me. I heard of someone took all pre reqs except biochem and was quoted $54k, only to realize later she was misquoted. I saw it here.
