I'll be graduating from LVN school in November and want to go on to an LVN-RN program. I haven't done any RN pre-requisites and, at age 50, don't want to take the time to do so... so I'm looking for a program with "built in" pre-reqs. I'm curious about West Coast University but can't find much info about it. Please tell me what you know about it... thanks!
It's probably not official yet. But why teacher would lie to us? will see what's going to happen
Hi MrMojo...because of your post about wcu not offering the lvn-rn bridge, I had to look into it myself. I called, yesterday and went today for the info session. I asked about this and the lady clarified that, "yes, the lvn-rn bridge will still be offered, but, the Nov start date will be the last. The next start date of Febuary 1st will now need some pre-reqs." Later, when I spoke to an admissions rep, she said that you will need at least some credits, and that it depends on which classes they are. So thanks :yeah:Mojo, for getting me on the ball. I've procrastinated long enough, I am scheduled to take the hesi next week. I'm still planning if accepted, to start in February. Well, I have to study now, will update later.
Yes,I have started the program.I am not hearing very many success stories. In the back of my mind, I was thinking they were passing students just to get the money.I am just a little apprehensive.I just need to here from someone who honestly knows about the program and can assure me that it is not only about the money with westcoast.

Dixon how long have you been going and what are you thinking of doing instead? I am on a medical leave and have only been in for two terms - I am set to go back in November...
Well, I was thinking of trying to get into mount st. mary college.I like the program so far.I spoke with someone over at the orange county campus and they said this will be there last lvn-rn program. They are only going to have the BSN program. So,I was also thinking of taking a medical leave but time is not on my side and they will have gotton all there monies pretty soon.I am torn between entering there bachelors program(pending ccne accreditation)What do you think about the program? So far everything is good. I have completed 3 levels and am in the 4th level now.
FYI. I was going to start the LVN to RN bridge program next July. I just found out today that they are phasing out the program. I am not eligible any longer because I do not have any pre-requisites complete. Apparently they are only starting a few more terms and you must have Pre-requisites complete to get in. After that, they are discontinuing and only having the complete BSN 3 year program available.
