West Coast University?

Published

I'll be graduating from LVN school in November and want to go on to an LVN-RN program. I haven't done any RN pre-requisites and, at age 50, don't want to take the time to do so... so I'm looking for a program with "built in" pre-reqs. I'm curious about West Coast University but can't find much info about it. Please tell me what you know about it... thanks!

I'm glad WCU finally recieved their CCNE accreditation!

I'm going to take the HESI in November, but can't seem to find the WCU online study guide anywhere :(

Someone on campus should give you the study guide and someone told me that they also give you a link (but i'm not too sure because they didnt give me one). OR you can go to barnes and noble and check if they have the hesi book there. I studied at B&N since they had the same book that the school gave out. Good luck!

Did the study book have everything you need to be prepared for the HESI and more importantly, to pass?

Yes, the book had pretty much everything. I didn't study the book religiously, but I skimmed through the parts I know I needed to freshen up on and took the practice tests in the book. That did it for me! I mostly used it for vocabulary since the guide provides you with a set of words you need to know (study them!). Good luck!

Hi! Could you please tell me how much and hom long is RN to BSN at WCU?

Thank you.

I went to one of the informational seminars earlier this month and the cost for the BSN program is $124K and is 36 months long. If you can take care of your pre reqs at a community college, that will definitely cut down some cost. The admissions rep will supply a study guide when you make your appt to take the hesi. The building is nice but paying that much for the program doesnt justify the costs enough IMO.

hm .. im starting this november 9th and the tuition for bsn program at anaheim campus is $116k.

Hi all,

I m new to the community and RN program. I just attended the pre-class today and got a quote for $128k (ontario campus) to start fresh from the start. Does anyone know how much of FASA grant or prell grant give out for private university? I was shock at the tution being a single mom of three don't how to re-pay all of that any grant info will be great help.

efun - do you meet with financial aide? They will be your best source - I know it is hard to wait it out but I went to the meeting, took my HESI, and then later in the week went to meet with Financial AIDE... the money you can get depends on your income - and there is a max - you will still have to come out of pocket with private student loans as well.

hi Calstudent1967

No I have not, to afraid to go my credit is soo bad and I am currently not work because I am like to use these couple of years to get my nursing degree. I am just trying to see what other option I have regarding attending the WCU.

Thank you for your reply..

Efun - just go in and meet with them - depending on your FICO score you will need a co-signer for the loans - there are creative ways - some people work up till a certain point - and there is money out there available but some of it has to come from you via a loan or personal funds - the loans are still there but harder to obtain -having said that PLEASE do go to the meeting so you can make an educated choice. The people there are trained, I can only speak of my own situation and having two children go through the college process.

You can get a lot of your pre-requs done at a Jr. College to lower to cost as well.

Hi all,

Does anyone know what is the Jr. College course = to west coast cultural pluralism, pathophysiology, & biochemistry? I looked in OCC and they do have the biochem but it only 2 unit so not sure if that would be good for west coast. I am trying to get all pre-quisite done as much as possible to be able to afford for their BSN program. Any info would greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
