Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

Hello,

I am interested in pursuing my RN after I have passed my LVN boards exam. I don't know anyone who has attended the school. If you know any information about the school or any school re: LVN_RN (BSN) I would gladly appreciate it!!!

Thanks =)

:coollook:

thanks! I really do appreciate your prompt response. If you could answer a few more questions, this would greatly help my journey in eventually becoming an rn. I am not interested in going to bsn route. I already have a bachelors and to be quite honest with you, I am tired of school. However, i am currently in school to become and lvn and I finish in January. My interest was to then continue to west coast and earn my rn license and fulfill my dream. I was bummed out to find out that there is no lvn-rn bridge program to get into. My question is that do you know of any other bridge programs to get into with out the long waiting list? Thanks

Did you call WCU, see they can still take you for LVN-RN bridge Feb 2010 class? Or take your pre req at community college, so you can get in to the BSN. I Know your in a bind, however this might be the only alternative. I really don't know any other schools, unless Community College. Which is a JOKE!!! The waiting game. Also do not get scam with College Network, I was ripped off with school. Lost $5000.00. Avoid this please. See what WCU wants`maybe you can still get in, try!!!

Darlene,

Hey I think this might be another alternative Chaffey College http://www.chaffey.edu/inst_programs/index.shtml

They have ADN program, look at the site!! I think you need a GPA 3.0 above, check it out. Also Mount St. Mary's and also Azusa Pacific University!!! Which you already have BSN, these school will take you!!!

Hi, please email me at [email protected]. I have a few questions about your experience at WCU. Thank you so so much.

REX3838,

THANKS SOOOOOO MUCH FOR THE ADVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went to the Anaheim campus last week and got my foot in the door! I will be starting their very last program LVN-RN program in April 2010I have most of my pre reqs completed, took and passed the entrance exam! I am so happy! I just have one more pre req to complete, in which I will be completing with them. They were very much helpful. Although I live in LA, I will be moving to Cerritos, which is the halfway point to anaheim. I must say, If it wasnt for WCU, then I wouldnt be able to pusure my dram in becoming an RN. And I'd also like to say a big thanks to you! I would'nt have contacted them to see they were still silling to take anymore students! Good luck in your career!

I am so happy for you. Please understand that the coorifice is going be a bit difficult, just hang in there. Try to stay away from the negative people please. Watch your back always choose the groups that are strong and get things done. Obtain the Saunders RN comprehensive book, it will help so much. When you get into the nursing classes just let me know and I can guide you. Best luck to you, just remember when things get really hard/you can not take it anymore. Just think about becoming a RN.!!!!!!!!!!:yeah:

hello rex , I have a question for you ,as you know the RN program is 120k ? I am 32 cant wait any longer ,and as you say once you are done as long as you are careful and love what you do all you need is your deegre as lots of LVN do what RN do and get pay the same :(

anyway Do you think is worth it at the end? is their RN program full time ?

thank YOU SO much for your time .

so happy tohear you got a god job doing what you love ;)

Rex,

I am terribly appalled by your plight with this school. I assume that you already have your LPN license. I have a question because I am also interested in the bridge program. Have you taken up any Anatomy, Physiology subject/s even before the LPN program? I had to ask this because I heard that it is better to have a solid foundation, of at least these basic subjects that I asked to enable an aspiring nurse to find it easier when in Nursing Programs.

Sincerely,

Regie

Hi, I can only speak for LVN-RN Bridge program, I paid 64,k when I was in school. I know the price went up for Bridge program. Now for RN BSN Program it's a bit expensive. The pay is a lot more than the LVN, I can tell you that for sure!!!! Of course more responsibilites, I use to think that LVN's and RN's do the same work. No WAY!!!, RN's critical thinkers, not just hands on like LVN's do. It's a whole different dynamics, you have to go beyond the picture. For myself, I am glad I took the step from moving from LVN to RN. What ever you persue, please keep in mind, that's not all about the money. It's about making a difference here on earth, what you can do!!!

For the program, I went full time. I had to take all my classes, it was hard/I cried a lot/slept very little. But it was so worth it!!!!!

Hi, well the school has some what a bad reputation. The reason which during the time I attended made no sense. They really work us to death, the reason is they really prepare you. They make you think like RN with a BSN. Trust me this will help, so much. If you want to land a good paying job. Yes I had my LVN and bridge for my RN. They will take your transfers/as long as they have not expired within the 5 year marker. Which will be a bit cheaper on the program. Honest I really hated this school, but now I understand why they prepared us!!!

The one they are going to eliminate is LVN-ADN bridge program. The new one they have is BSN-RN program. All I know that is that i have been waiting for several years to get into city college, no luck. So I got my LVN, now just finishing my RN. If you are still young, just go to city college. I had no choice I am 42 y/o and as you can see I can't wait. But what ever you do, just don't give up on your dream.

Hey rex3838 did you work and go to wcu at the same time? I am in the same boat you were in. I am the same age, lvn, and NEED my bsn. Tuitiok is staggering but what can I do? I can't hang out waiting to get into cc classes then nursing program.
