Hello,
I am interested in pursuing my RN after I have passed my LVN boards exam. I don't know anyone who has attended the school. If you know any information about the school or any school re: LVN_RN (BSN) I would gladly appreciate it!!!
Thanks =)
Where did you hear that they are getting rid of their lvn-rn bridge program? To me that would be their biggest breadmaker.
Hi,
I attend WCU, I am getting ready to graduate. Our Dean inform us we asked why, they said the Nursing Boards did not approve the program any longer, so WCU had to eliminate the program. They do have BSN-RN program for a popping amount $110,00.00 I think or more. So if you are a LVN you would have to start all over to get your RN. or transer from City college with all your pre-req completed so It would be cheaper/less time spend at WCU.

If the Board no longer approves their LVN to BSN program I would have doubts about any other program at this school. Something to think about before committing to such a large debt.

The one they are going to eliminate is LVN-ADN bridge program. The new one they have is BSN-RN program. All I know that is that i have been waiting for several years to get into city college, no luck. So I got my LVN, now just finishing my RN. If you are still young, just go to city college. I had no choice I am 42 y/o and as you can see I can't wait. But what ever you do, just don't give up on your dream.
Yes the WGU does sound like a good program if you can get into it. I am definately taking my prerequisites with that in mind.
The reason I ask about WCU was many of my classmates that was their gameplan. I am not surprised the board is no longer approving of it. It always seemed like it was a product you purchased rather than an education

That has been my opinion of that school from what I have read of it. I really can only think of one reason to pay that kind of money to get a nursing degree and one would have to have the money to burn as I see it. If I were going to spend that kind of money, I would want to be purchasing a quality product, a school name with prestige behind it, as well as the best education that kind of money could buy.

Good luck in what you do, I myself really did not have the money to burn or was not born with a silver spoon. However I am almost finished, with the program. To me no one is going to ask what your grade was in school or how prestiage it is, all that matters is that your a good/safe nurse. I really hated attending this school, It was to fast paced/no life. But in a way I am glad I took the chance, if I kept on waiting for something to happen, I would have never reached this far!!!
So the best to you!!!!
The LVN to RN is not going to finish, the only thing is that you need your prerequisites done now. People says a lot of things but most of them are not well informed. I am going to start on the LVN to RN class of February. Another thing is that people complains a lot about schools and usually the complainers are the ones that are hardly passing, I asked a lot of people about the program and they said it was great. Just go with your gut and what you thing is going to be better for your situation. Best regards!!!!:heartbeat

Well I am glad you feel this way, I myself just finished thursday from the program. It was hard/hated it. Just depends what school you attended. Wait until you start the nursing classes, then you will see why everyone complain so much. Like I said it depends what campus you are going to attend. I attended OC campus, which was the most disorganized school, they also did inform us that the last class will be in Nov 2009 LVN-RN bridge, so I was told by the Dean at the school. The best too you, yes there will a lot of complainers but you will see why
