Hello,
I am interested in pursuing my RN after I have passed my LVN boards exam. I don't know anyone who has attended the school. If you know any information about the school or any school re: LVN_RN (BSN) I would gladly appreciate it!!!
Thanks =)
REX3838.I am sorry to here your frustration.You have to fill me in about this program.I am starting to get some vibes about this school.I need to get your honest opinion.Do you feel like you are transitioning to become an RN.
Hi,
I am getting ready to graduate in a couple of weeks, At first it was going ok. Until you get into the nursing classess, that's when you are on your own. These teachers, just read off a power point, I can do that myself. They have you do these group projects, like power point presentations. So you can learn from them, however you do not, more stress to complete them/APA papers!!!! When you take the HESI exams, which are exit's that you must pass to continue to the next term, more stress. If you don't pass you have to repeat the class again for a popping amount of $10,000.00. I am so done with this school, have I learned anything NO WAY, I am so scared to go out there, cause honest, I don't feel safe, only what I know as a LVN!!!!! Also as of this year Nov 2009, they will no longer offer LVN-RN Bridge program, I did call to confirm and it's true. They gave me no reason at all, they said they needed to concentrate on there BSN program. Maybe the boards realized how stupid this program is, and complaints of students. Who knows!!! If you need more info, let me know!!!!
I just talked to a representative at West Coast and was told they are getting rid of the LVN-RN bridge program due to an overwhelming response to the BSN program which costs $127k, YES. It's a 3 year program and you don't have to be an LVN to get into the program. I'm currently an LVN student in 4th term and was looking forward to getting my RN asap. This is pretty much the only reason I signed up for the LVN program. My plan was to finish then go on to West Coast and get my RN. I have no idea what to do now since West Coast getting rid of their bridge program. I don't know of any other private schools that offer a bridge program in Orange county, CA or even near by:banghead:. Community colleges are so impacted, it would take me at least 5 years to become an RN. If anyone has any suggestions, please help me out.

Check out WGU: http://www.wgu.edu. Their program lists several SoCal clinical sites that are south of LA proper, but I don't remember them. This program costs $4250 every six months. Just a tad more reasonable than West Coast.
Thank you soo much for sharing this information.I started having anxiety issues since I have been enrolled in this program.I knew something was not right.My heart goes out to you and me both.I am stuck in this loan as well.It seems as if they only pass you in order to get the loan money and then once you get to term 5 they could care less because they have gotten most of the loan money from the bank.How are other classmate doing do they feel the same way.This is only a suggestion.You can find out which hospitals have the new grad programs or talk with the nursemanager or nursing education department and see if you can shadow or volunteer to go over the things you feel uncomfortable.It has been my experience that some institutions would love to take you up under their wing and accommodate you.What do you all do at clinicals?
I spoke with the orange county campus as well as the ontario campus and they stated that they will only have the bsn program and the last class will start in november.You must have the prerequisites out of the way.The fact that you do not have to have any experience and other current criteria still applies.You will have to contact them on monday to see if they will credit your lvn courses.
Hi everyone,
It make no sense about trying to get into the BSN program, the LVN-RN program was making more money for them. I am so glad I am getting out of there, 4 weeks to go !!! I just want to let everyone know who attends WCU, just hang in there. I just wish I would have known more info regarding this school, but I had no choice. I could not wait any longer trying to get in a community College. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!!!!!
