Hello,

I am interested in pursuing my RN after I have passed my LVN boards exam. I don't know anyone who has attended the school. If you know any information about the school or any school re: LVN_RN (BSN) I would gladly appreciate it!!!

Thanks =)

Hi dixon4rn

I know what you mean, Honest I learn more in LVN school, then I did in WCU. I am really scared to go out there as RN. I am very safe nurse but, as RN you have to think like one. I just prey I pass the term/NCLEX. So can starting working again. If you need any advise, please let me know and I will try to guide you. By the ways what term are you in?

Thank you rex3838.That is all we can do since we are financially obligated at this point.Do you feel like they prepared you to think and function like an RN?

Hi dixon4rn, read my thread!!! rex3838

I wish you the very best.You will do fine.You did not come this far to fail.Failure is not an option.You are going to pass.Thank you again for your honesty in everything.I truley appreciate it!

Thanks dixon4rn,

Hi Chacon2208,

I am attending OC campus, it is beyond any fixing, I hate this school, We are having so much drama right now, Our teacher Advance med surg wants us to take two test Neuro/Multi system on the same day, with a 4hr lecture before the test, she has not posted our grade, we have no Idea if we pass Cardio, we have two more weeks to graduate, plus take 3 more Exit HESI and if you don't pass her class you have to score Adv HESI with a super HIGH Score!!! If you don't make it, guess what repeat her class from HELL!!!! So I am a bit ticked off right now, I want to go a bit postal, but I know I have to hang in there, sorry that i am venting!!! I just want to cry:sniff:

Oh man she sounds crazy!!! Just hang in there your almost done! I need help do you think I should do my lvn first then do my rn? I'm a mom, and work full time as a ma. I'm asking because I read that you did your lvn, every one tells me not to do it, so I'm stuck.

Hi,

Here's the deal, at WCU they will no longer offer the Bridge from LVN-RN program, they have RN-BSN program now, I think it will take a couple of years at WCU, but it accelerated program, which is beyond insane. My advise take all general ed classes in city college, then transfer to WCU it will be cheaper/less time, that's if you can not get in RN program at city college. WCU would be your last resort, I had no choice I am a 42y/o mom as well I also had been waiting to get into city college, so I went to private for my LVN, then bridge for my RN. It was very expensive, but I had no choice. Also they are trying to get rid LVN's at hospitals/some nursing homes. Many hospitals are hiring RN with BSN now. So that mean's I have to go back to school, again!!!! So it would be better to get your RN, just take all your general eds, then transfer to Prv university or WCU. I feel that it's better to go back to school, instead of doing nothing at all. If you feel in your heart just do it, you have nothing loose. ;)

I have looked around and to get into a community college it takes 2-3 years to get into the program. At work they said thell keep me as a lvn, and help pay for rn. So I don't know what to do. What do you think if they keep me as lvn at $18hr?

See if you can still get into the program for LVN-RN bridge. New classes start Nov, it would be the last enrollment. But as you know, things are changing very fast. It's not fair to see a RN making more money then an LVN doing the same job. I myself got tired of this, so that's why I went back to school, it was always my dream to become an RN. Just call WCU and find out if you can get in for the bridge program before Nov 2009 or BSN program. and see what kind general ed class you need so it would be a bit cheaper when you transfer. Don't give up!!!!
