Well, I am DONE!

Published

Last week, I passed my last exam, and will graduate from my program on May 20.

I can barely believe, as I type those words and say them out loud, that it's happening! I remember being scared to death to start, and then getting a cancer diagnosis and withdrawing, and beginning again just to reach this point. Now, I'm healthy, and very happy to be able to say that I am DONE!

We have a mandatory 4-day NCLEX-RN review beginning this weekend, and then our pinning ceremony and graduation the following Wednesday. I have a job lined up as a staff nurse in telemetry to start on June 8.

Those of you that know me and have followed me on this journey know that this is the culmination of a life's dream for me. My previous career and education has been in Health Care Administration (I was a suit!), and in my mid 40's I decided to study nursing.

I want all of you to know that I have followed your successes and have been part of your cheerleading squad since I joined these forums in 2003. You have inspired me more than you will ever know, and I hope to do the same for any of you that are starting school or are struggling with your own issues. You are not alone.

Thanks so much for being there for me!

congratulations on achieving the dream so many of us share!! i hope to be in that position in one year.

A 4 day review - that is great. Then take the test asap.

Telemetry huh? Well, I simply hate reading monitors and interpreting EKG's so I must say better you than me. :coollook:
