Hey Future RN's & LPN's,

Hey Aleena yours is on the nineth as well? What a cool date huh. I love it 09-09-09.I hope that ujones grandma or aunt is wrong with telling the date, or at least that no devil had an ear when I told ..EVERYONE! lol. I cant keep anything for myself when I get excited. Just curious if anyone takes theirs in Albany GA on the nineth. Here is what I did:
I figured the day before we all know not to study and to rest, so I booked myself an expensive hotel and I will make use of the whirrlpool and the luxuries they provide! I will get pampered for the big day. Makes me wonder...I do not think I pampered myself that much when I got married, maybe that is why I am divorced now! lol. I am so silly.
I am coming to GA do u have any room for me:smokin:
This is just a suggestion that helped me. I took my NCLEX-PN at 40 years old! ANYWHO, take as many of the tests in the back of the books (or on disks) as you can. Just take them, no second guessing, don't look stuff up as you are doing it. When you are through, go back and correct it. There becomes a pattern of questions that you need to review the material on. Concentrate your studying on those areas. Good luck to all of you!!
Ok so I just want to verify infection control with all of you. I know this is in the books and all over this website but I made notes and want to double check them with everyone:
When donning:
On: top to bottom: gown, mask, goggles, gloves
Off: gloves, goggles, mask, gown
Only room cohorts of same disease or strain.
Airborne: TB, Shingles, Varicella, Measles
**N95 respirator mask, negative pressure room, pt wears mask when being transported but try to limit out of room activity.
Droplet: (LOTS!): meningitis-bacterial, influenza, adenovirus, diptheria, HIB, Mumps, pertussis, streptococcus, pneumonia, rhinovirus, rubella, scarlet fever, sepsis, epiglottidis
**Wear mask. Door may be open. Maintain 3 ft between infected patients and visitors. Pt wears mask when transporting
Contact: MRSA, C-diff, VRE, Bronchiolitis, conjunctivits, Hep A, herpes, impetigo, pediculosis, rotavirus, RSV, scabies, croup.
**Gloves unless in contact with secretions or drainage then also wear gown. Anything important about transporting??
Standard: Botulism, cellultis, CMV, Mono, Pinworm, legionnaires disease, lyme disease, norovirus, rabies, Reye's, rheumatic fever, west nile, tinea, viral meningitis.
**Gown when necessary (wound care), gloves, wash hands between patients, assume everyone has infectious disease.
Please check for accuracy if you disagree with something! I just want to make sure I know my infection control!
Thanks! Happy Studying :)
I took my NCLEX for the LPN yesterday...I don't feel good about it at ALL ~ so, I guess you can add me to the list of 2nd time around-er's. *L*[/quotNo we will not add u
there is a chanced that you passed!! Pray about try the trick to calm your nerves!! I will be praying for u :heartbeat
Thanks - I just have this horrid feeling in my belly that is not good - the machine shut off at 85 questions...So, I guess that right now, I do have to trust in my faith that whatever happens with the test, happened for a reason and God is going to guide my footsteps to where I need to be, and if it means plunking my butt in that chair a 2nd time, then so be it.
