Hey Future RN's & LPN's,

I haven't seen a group established for us!!! I wish everyone much success on their exam! For me I will be taking it for a 2nd time!! Please leave prayers, advice and words of encouragement to everyone in this group!:heartbeat

I took my NCLEX for the LPN yesterday...I don't feel good about it at ALL ~ so, I guess you can add me to the list of 2nd time around-er's. *L*

Have you attempted the Pearson Vue Trick?

I have no idea what that is ~ please tell me!

here are the steps. this should work for lpns as well. it is not official, but so far it worked for i believe anyone.

here are the exact steps to see if you passed or failed the nclex exam on the pearson vue web site:

1) go to http://www.vue.com/nclex.

2) select the 'test taker services' tab at the top.

3) click 'register' on the right side.

4) click the 'credit card' link.

5) click the 'sign in' link in the second sentence.

6) enter your username.

7) enter your password.

8) click the button.

9) click 'register' on the left side.

10) select your test type.

11) click the button.

12) select your country.

13) click the button.

14) answer the yes/no questions.

15) select your country again.

16) select your state.

17) type in your city.

18) click the button. a list of schools should appear.

19) select your school.

20) select the month and year of your graduation.

21) select your board of nursing.

22) click the button.

very important: at this point, if you get a pop up that says 'the candidate currently has test results that are on hold. a new registration cannot be created at this time.', it has nothing to do with passing or failing; it just means that they are reviewing your records due to random reviews that they conduct, or because they needed to locate some data or papers, etc. this means you will possibly have to wait a few more days than your friends who did not get this message. if you get the message 'our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. please contact your member board for further assistance. another registration cannot be made at this time.', that means you passed. if you do not get either message and go straight to the credit card information page, that means you did not pass.

I'm at work right now and I don't have the cojones to check it here and NOT start bawling...*L*

Well, I had to look the word cojones up lol That was rather funny! Good luck to you when you get the chance to check!!!

thanks for looking over that infection control susanne! we're going to pass this test! woohoo!

just clarifying though--a pt with contact precautions doesnt need to wear anything special during transporting other than making the receiving unit aware of the precautions? does that sound right?

nrcolee6: are u doing content and questions or jus questions?

:confused:So I was a little worried the beginning of this week. My test date is 9/25. I tried to go to the library Monday night to study thinking I would have no distractions and it was horrible. People were being loud, goofing around, and had no thought or concern for people who were trying to actually get some work done. It was like beating my head into a brick wall :banghead: However before I went to the library I had managed to do about 60-120 questions. I was so mad I stormed out of the library and it just set me off for the rest of the night so no more studying monday night. Sometimes my temper gets the best of me :saint: Yesterday I did about 200 questions. I expected to review content for about an hour and then do more questions. Had a family emergency so that was out. So lastnight Im thinking do I push the test off 1 more week? Today I have done about 310 questions so far and the funny thing is I finally feel like its clicking. Even if I dont know an answer my educated guesses are working based off of what I do know. So maybe just maybe Im doing ok. I have a lot of things riding on me passing this second time around and im doing my darndest to stay positive. So plan for tonight is to get some dinner. Review about an hour to 2 hours of content and then maybe another hour of questions and then bed. I find if I do too much I start getting punchy and then Im not reading the questions at all. I started the Exam Cram last night and I love it. Using Saunders for content, ATI for questions and review, NCSBN for more review, and lacharity. What do you guys think? I dont want to overwork this or think this. Like I said trying to stay positive and hoping for the better outcome the next time. :typing:up::down::confused:

I believe that "cramming" does not work well. I am reading your post and I am getting dizzy, because I feel like you are doing wayyyy to much. I think, just as we learned in Nurses that you should reduce your workload to a more achievable one. For example: I have a certain amount of hours set aside to review content, which is three hours a day and one hour questions, which equals at this time about 50-100 and review after that hour. That is it! I feel accomplished, because I am doing what I set out to do and I do not feel overwhelmed. Further, I have time to go running and do cross stitch, which is supposed to very good for your brain to do something you enjoy that uses small motor function. You have to study of course, but in my humble opinion I think you are way overdoing it. However, then whom I to say that. I have my test on the 09-09-09 and I have studied now consistenly since may five days a week the way I mentioned. Not sure if your time frame was less.

just clarifying though--a pt with contact precautions doesnt need to wear anything special during transporting other than making the receiving unit aware of the precautions? does that sound right?

I do not think I ever seen a question that mentions this. Here is my thought why: For example lets say you have MRSA...you really would not leave your room. They would bring the equipment to you as needed and leave it in your room, because I would assume that they would not want to take the chance that you contaminate anything, so there would not be much reason for you to worry about transport. X-ray etc can come to the patient. However, lets say they would transport, the people who would be in contact would enforce PPE like they would in the room. Nothing special for your patient.

MH24: I am in the same boat. I am also waiting for my ATT. I will giving my test second time. The first time I had lots of medication questions which some of them I never hreard before. I read in your thread that you copied link about medications. Can you please let me know which website it is if you still have that? I am using this thread the first time and I like it. Lots of support and GOOD LUCK to all of us. And YES, we can do it. If we can pass the nursing school, we can pass the Nclex, it's not easy, but it's not imposible either. Again good luck to everyone.

nrcolee6: are u doing content and questions or jus questions?

well since i test in a week! im trying to do mainly questions with supplementing content as needed. as well as i have taken notes throughout my studying of things i forget or are important, like drugs and differences of diff diseases etc so i continually reread through that. and i guess im doing the ncsbn review so still doing their review but i feel like it's pretty basic and a good quick refresher. soooo to answer your question a mix of questions and content but more focusing on questions! hope that helps! today was a good study day and im going to celebrate and praise god! we are all going to pass! keep up the studying!:up::p
