  1. Just wanted to say that I did work while I was in nursing school. Matter of fact I worked 2 jobs the whole way through. Im one of those people that when you say something cant be done I find a way to do it and in my situation no working was not an option. It was hard and I thank god everyday that my husband and family were so patient, but yes it can be done! :)
  2. I start next tuesday at a LTC facility/nursing home. Im very nervous but excited at the same time. There is still 70% of my graduating class, i graduated in May, that are without jobs. Im happy to even have this opportunity. I must admit though this site has been scaring me a little with all the negativity about LTC facilities. To be honest I feel in this market we can't be picky. We need to take what we can get. I have a friend that ran into 2 students the other day from the 2008 graduating class who are still job hunting. The way I look at it is I am the low man on the totem pole. By no means am I expecting anything to be easy, but I will take whats offered. Its scary out there especially with new grads coming in to the market within the next couple of months. Im not sure what to expect or how many patients I will have but Im going in with a positive mind. I wish everyone the best of luck whether it be LTC, STC, home health, hospital etc. Like I said I think right now experience is experience and we should take what there is to offer. Just my opinon :)
  3. If it says delivery successful and you are getting that pop up you passed! Congrats!
  4. It does work for NJ. I tried it my second time. Had 75 questions and it shut off. Tried the pearson vue trick got the good pop up and found out 48 hours through quick results I had officially passed. Try the trick :)
  5. Im so sorry. I have been thinking about you this weeke wondering if you had tested yet. If you need anything or there is anything I can help you with let me know.
  6. Im so sorry. NJ's rule is after the third time of failing you have to take a mandatory review course I believe approved by them. That was what I was told when I failed the first time. That I had 2 more times and then I would be required to take a review course if I did not pass and only after successful completion of the review course would they send an ATT again. Again Im sorry.
  7. Well Im also from NJ and have bene experiencing the same thing as you. I graduated in May and passed my boards in September. I can not relocate. Im married and have a house. So I have applied to DE, NJ , PA hospitals. I applied to a LTC facility that is a mile from my home back in July. Interviewed once. They hired me yesterday. I have been applying to hospitals like crazy and have gotten nothing. I also had an interview for home care for a pediatric agency but that was more than an hour ride from my home. At this point because of where the market is at and the fact that about 70% of my class does not have a job yet with more people coming into the market Im going with the LTC facility. It will give me some experience till at least I can get hired at a hospital. It is not perfect but in this economy I think we need to take what we can get. I like the order you are looking in but I would apply to all categories and see where you get a bite at. I dont know if it helped but I can tell you I have been applying everywhere in all categories and this is where Im ending up at.
