Weird Home Remedies That Really Do Work!

Published

Does anybody have any they would like to share?

Here are some of mine:

Whenever my grandmother had leg cramps, she would wrap her leg very tightly in saran wrap. It worked like a charm.

If your hair is greying at the roots and you don't have time to dye it, rub ground coffee (of course only for brunettes) into the roots. They will cover up enough grey untill you have time to get your hair done.

Itching like crazy? Take out the vinegar and pour on itchy spots. You might smell bad, but at least the itching stops.

I know their are a lot more, but my brain how ceased to recall any more at this time.

How about yours?

THANKS :)

Jules

Now is that a Redskin potato an Idaho baker, or some other kind? Obviously the sizes are different. Although I have seen some very large Redskins. Also the texture is different-does it matter? And Tubers on the outside... Inqiring minds REALLY want to know. Also how long is it left in? Skinned or unskinned? SEE-lots of questions that you did not answer. And I guess my femininity can smell like a forest-heck you can pick frrom blueberry, cherry, peach etc etc. I just dont want a Lysol douche!!!!!!

WOW!!! Is this what us male nurses have to look forward to when we hit the field? You guys scare me !!! Granted, I'm rolling all over the floor laughing, but scared just the same!!

if you go into OB/GYN yes this is what you have to look forward to.

-Lemon juice on a bee sting

-Tea tree oil (someone already mentioned) natural fungicide, germ killing, makes ticks let loose

-Salt water for poison ivy- scratch at it then apply the salt water. Burns like the dickens at first.

I live in southern Appalachia. These are some that people swear by and still use:

-for a bee sting take one leaf from 5 different trees (different variety) and rub the leaves in hand to make a "goo" and rub on bite

-diesel for a wound bleeding heavily

-honey on a wound

-a drop or two of kerosene on a teaspoon for sugar for a bad cough. (My DH does this one and he claims it works. I can't say I've tried it)

-Black oil on dogs to keep the ticks/fleas off

The best stuff for zits. Put a few drops on a q-tip and it does the same thing "It takes the red out". Also regular toothpaste no whitening paste or gel leave it on overnight. Might be harsh on sensitive skin.

Hiccoughs (hiccups??) press your eyeballs reasonably hard while holding your breath. Stops them right away unfortunately leaves the feeling of wanting to hiccup.
