I'm thinking about picking up another class for the semester because the ones I'm currently taking aren't very challenging and don't require much outside work. Principles of Chem (less than 1 hr of homework), Yoga (no homework!), Brain and Behavior (no book=no outside work), Sign Language 1 (very little outside work). Edukan offers A&P 1 starting in March and running for 8 weeks. Do you think that's doable? I've already taken an A&P class a couple of years ago that isn't acceptable anywhere, so I feel like it won't be as tough as it would be for some people, but I don't want to get in over my head at the same time.
What do you think?
Also, they say in the syllabus that you should buy the books through eCampus, but do you see any reason why I couldn't buy through Barnes & Noble? They're quite a bit cheaper.
Hi Falon!
Nope, you don't have to buy the books new, just make sure you have the correct edition. I bought my books through Amazon's marketplace for much cheaper than the list price (saved about $60 total), and I think Lana got hers through Barnes and Noble at a savings as well. You're right, the books are sooo expensive! I wish I had known that you don't have to go through your campus bookstore a lot sooner in my schooling, could have saved myself some significant $$$. Good luck with the class, feel free to come on here or send a PM if you have any questions about the course and/or materials.
If you buy used, just make sure it includes the interactive physiology CD. We didn't use it in AP1, but apparantly we will in AP2. Don't know if you can buy it separate or not. Also the ADAM interative anatomy software must be purchased new. It is all cheaper on other websites - ecampus.com sucks! If you have a Barnes and noble membership I got my books cheaper there.
Good point about the Interactive CD if you get the book used, I forgot about that. I got mine brand new from Amazon marketplace for less than $100 so the software was there. Barnes and Noble is definitely another great option. Anything is a bargain over eCampus, I think, I have to agree that they are expensive!! A lot of other people must think so too and avoid them...have you noticed all those emails we've gotten from Edukan lately encouraging students to use eCampus?

I just finished the test for unit 8 and ended up with a solid B for the class! I'm definately going to work for that A in AP2, but I don't know what more I could have done to get a better grade in this class! Also finished my chem final this morning (still waiting for grades to be posted) but that means I finished my associates degree in psychology (my 2nd associates...how many more til I have a bachelors???!!!) Now I'm going to put books away and enjoy my next 2 days before nursing classes start on Monday. Seemi...hope your grade turns out okay and you don't have to retake it! If not, just do your best next time! See you guys around the boards, or on June 26 in AP2! Enjoy the break!

Hi Seemi,
Good luck with everything...you'll definitely be in my thoughts and prayers, and I know that everything will go perfectly for you. You know what to expect now with the AP1 class, so I believe that you're going to ace it this time! What type of program are you applying to for August? I will send positive thoughts your way that you'll have a smooth and successful application process. Keep us posted on how AP1 is going for you (Simmons again?), and our AP family will meet up again in June, I'm looking forward to that as well! :icon_hug:

Hey girls, I was thinking about changing to the session 1 AP2 with Terry Lee. I really need to get an A out of that class, and I'm not sure it's entirely possible for me with Simmons since I don't understand his tests. I figured it up, and 62% of the grade in his class is based on the tests! There's no guarantee it would be better with someone else, but I think I have to try! I'm going to call in the morning to see if it's still open and if it is, I will probably change. Wish I could do it again with you guys, but I have to try to get an A!

Oh, I'm sorry you missed the last homework...bummer! Sometimes it's hard to keep it all straight, I have to check and re-check myself every time.
Yep, I just turned in my labs and so I can say now that I am officially done with AP1 and have that B...yippee!!:w00t:
I'm going to take the rest of the week off from the books and then get right back to it come Monday. It's been fun, girls! If you don't mind, please post here after grades are final and let me know how you did, thanks! I'm sure we'll see each other around the boards elsewhere and then we'll start back up in June with AP2.
Seemik, good luck with finishing up AP1 and congrats on completing your English class. Way to go with the A!!
Lana, same to you, good luck with the end of AP1, and also with the start of your LPN classes next week. Please let me know how it's going, I'm so happy for you...can't wait til it's my turn to get started with nursing school!
