8 Week A&P 1 with Edukan...what do you think?

Published

I'm thinking about picking up another class for the semester because the ones I'm currently taking aren't very challenging and don't require much outside work. Principles of Chem (less than 1 hr of homework), Yoga (no homework!), Brain and Behavior (no book=no outside work), Sign Language 1 (very little outside work). Edukan offers A&P 1 starting in March and running for 8 weeks. Do you think that's doable? I've already taken an A&P class a couple of years ago that isn't acceptable anywhere, so I feel like it won't be as tough as it would be for some people, but I don't want to get in over my head at the same time.

What do you think?

Also, they say in the syllabus that you should buy the books through eCampus, but do you see any reason why I couldn't buy through Barnes & Noble? They're quite a bit cheaper.

Hey there, girls!

How is everyone so far this week? Well, I'm happy to say that I got a "B" on this week's test! It was a little easier, thank goodness, and using the tutorial CD from the book helped soooo much! If I can get a "B" on the next two tests I'll walk away from the class with a "B" for the course. Here's hoping! Anyway, gotta run, but I wanted to check in. Good luck this week and hang in there!

thats great ! I hope you do well, I already took the tell this week and did not do so well,I am almost positive I will be getting a C, I will probably take the course over again for summer session 2 , im going to try to take it soon, while everything is still frsh in my memory!

Thanks! I'm sorry about this week's test...I'll be taking the class again too if I get a "C" but think I'll do the 12-week session with Reichert if that should happen!

hey girls! i pm'd goingformydream this week because she took this class previously with simmons. there is no extra credit or dropping a test, but she did say that she thought the last 3 tests were a little easier. also, she used this link http://www.aw-bc.com/applace/ to study with. if you got a new book it came with a student access kit to mya&p. i had e-mailed simmons about this but he said we didn't have access to it but could purchase access to anatomy & physiology place. but...mya&p and anatomy and physiology place are the same thing! you can go to this website, choose our book, then click on student registration and you have access quizzes and exercises. wish i had realized this sooner. :( i have a few choice words for simmons but will keep those to myself. i'm realizing that if i have to take micro and ap2 with him i'm going to have to do a lot more research for help on my own. grrr... goingformydream is taking ap2 and micro through riosalado, but my a&p classes both have to be through the same school. and i've already checked with my school to make sure they accept credit through edukan (barton county cc). just thought i'd pass that along.

anyway, we've only got one chapter to do this week. i actually started on the homework last night. good luck!

thanks for the info, didn't know we could get to the websites without the access codes!

wow, that will be quite a load with micro and ap2, especially if you are taking them through simmons! :uhoh3:

If you're planning to retake it, have you considered dropping it now so you will get a W instead of a C? It would help in the gpa factor. I know dropping is never fun, but just something to think about. I think all those e-mails I keep getting say tomorrow is the last day to withdraw. Sorry about the test! I'm taking it this weekend.

well as far as I know if you retake the class , the old grade is not applied to your gpa , i will check with them tommorow to make sure, I dso do not feel like doing this over again , but I have no other option :o

Just check to be sure. My community college here takes an average of the grade of the first class and second class. Which is kinda crappy.

Hey there! Just wanted to let my AP buddies know, if you haven't seen the pre-nursing board, that I got accepted to my nursing school of choice! I'm sooo relieved to have that question answered, the not knowing was horrendous! Definitely a long road ahead but I'm really excited that I'm finally making some progress towards my goal! :monkeydance:

Well, I've gotten all my homework done for the week in both my classes so I can relax a little tomorrow before starting the next unit. Have a great weekend!

SEEMIK...did you decide to keep the class or drop it? I hope you're still with us!!

76% on todays test. Thank goodness there are only 2 more weeks of this class left! By the way, I decided not to take micro this summer, but am still doing AP2 during session 3 - unfortunately with Simmons.
