Hi! Who is applying to Weatherford for the spring 2011 semester?
I took the TEAS yesterday and didn't do as well as I was hoping. I am going to retake it and hopefully then I will have 18 or 19 points. It seems that the point system has changed and is only 23 possible points now, rather than 26.
I really don't know if 18 or 19 will be enough, but I haven't completed Micro so that is going to hurt me. I figure it is worth a try though! You can't win if you don't play! lol.
So who else is applying? How many points does everyone have?
I try my best not to think about those stinkin' letters, especially when I am at work!
Last semester when I would daydream about my letter(s), I would not only think about what I would do or how I would react if I got an Acceptance letter, but I also forced myself to think about how I would feel if I got a Rejection letter. Not expecting to get one, it turns out that I did myself a favor by forcing myself to think about it, because that's exactly what happened. I was extremely confident about my chances of getting into TCC, and I knew that my scores were competitive enough. Come to find out, I was actually rejected because I didn't have Math 0350 or the correct math placement test. It's a terribly long story, but due to some unfortunate misinformation, I did not meet the requirements to apply. I was completely heartbroken. I was devastated, stricken with a deep sadness, which turned into anger, and then one day I was finally able to wake up and realize that while I might not ever understand why this happened, in my heart I knew it happened for a reason.
With that being said, I am extremely anxious this time around. Last time I was an Alternate for WC, and never got "the call". This time, the applicant pool for TCC seems to be pretty strong (and I've been told more times than not that the number of students accepted was dropping to 100), which scares the crap out of me. I just have to keep the faith that if it's meant to be, it will happen for me. :)
So, who's going to be the next to call and ask when letters are going to go out?! I've already had my turn. LOL!!
If they do go out on the latest possible date (April 8th), that's another TWO WEEKS away!!! I soooo don't want to have to wait that long! It's possible that I've already started making trips to my house during my lunch break to check my mailbox. :chair:
Didn't you just call Monday? LOL!
Yes. LOL! I know, I'm pathetic. I just figured maybe they'd be going out tomorrow (one can hope, right?!), or that KL would have a better idea of when to expect them, instead of saying that they'd go out as late as April 8th.
I see students from other schools within the Texas section getting their letters, and it makes me that much more anxious. I don't think I'd be in such a hurry to know if I felt more confident in my scores. But, with each passing day, I doubt myself more and more, and fear that I'll end up on the Alternate List again.
UTHSC and Collin County College are the two that I recall having already gotten letters for Fall 2011 acceptance.
Just getting really anxious to hear something. Especially after KL told me some 17's would be getting in and some 17's would be placed on the Alternate List. I'm just fearful I'll end up on that stupid list again!! However, last time I'm almost certain I was at the bottom of the list, because studentCL got a rejection letter with 16 points. Hopefully this time if I do end up on the list, it will be towards the top. Sigh.... maybe we'll hear something this week. This waiting game is awful!
How did you do on your TEAS score? Its the second criteria they look at.
If you have a B on it I'm guessing you'll be pretty high on the list. I think you took the earlier version. I was told that if there was a tie between two people they would use which test was taken as a tie breaker.
I got a B on the Version V. But am still taking classes so I lost 2pts for that. I am at a 16. Karen seemed to feel I was very competitive for the alternate list with those numbers. I am hoping with my B on the TEAS I'll be high on the 16 list and there are VERY FEW 17s I have to compete with to get from the alternate list to the real deal.
She also told me that if you're accepted in WC, TCC has more than likely accepted you too. So I am betting you are going to get to choose which school you want to go to Dreamer. :)

The FAQ section of WC's new website says that if there is a tie, they actually look at the Overall Adjusted score on the TEAS, and if those numbers are the same on both applications, then they go off of how many times the prerequisite classes had been attempted. I don't see how it could possibly be fair to go off of which version of the TEAS was taken.
