We knew it was coming but it still sucks

Published

As some of you remember, I had a terminally ill kindergarten student this year. She was only here for a few days and spent most of the year doing home and hospital teaching but we received regular updates on her and were in touch with mom pretty frequently. She was sick since last summer and passed away at home early yesterday morning. She was on hospice and, from what I understand, was not uncomfortable in her last days. I am very thankful for this.

I don't have any children but I encourage those of you who do to hold them nice and tight today. Every day we have with the ones we love is a true gift from the universe.

I'm so sorry. It's always especially awful with the little ones, even when you see it coming.

You are right, just because you knew it was coming, it doesn't make it any easier. I'm so sorry.

I am so sorry. It doesn't make it any easier to expect it, nor does it make it hurt any less. May that sweet baby find peace.

Thanks, everyone. It's just the kind of thing you can't make sense out of. I appreciate your kind words.

I'm sorry for your loss. May the child be safe in gods hands, they are not in pain anymore and will be watching over their family as little angels. I pray for you and the family.
