i want to sue a nursing school

Published

i want to sue a private nursing school in Michigan,Baker College(thanks for nothing).i'm an lpn attended Baker to continue my RN.When I started, the school said they also admit LPNs who didn't graduate from their nursing school.i got my LPN education from other school.i took their pre-requisite classes, even optional class just to get in the school.they admit based on GPA(I got a 4.0) and entrance exam.I asked my academic advisor the test topics so i can study for it.She said its basic subjects math, reading, etc.I took the test, i'm surprised they're all nursing questions i did not study for.I even told the proctor I dont think they are making me take the right test.I was told to study for general classes, math, reading, not nursing NCLEX exam questions. He said maybe they jsut mixed the questions, maybe math and reading questions will show up later.from number 1-100,its all nursing questions. i failed exam, didn't get in RN school.i went home crying..All my dreams of being an RN shattered.I worked hard,10 years as a CNA before I became an LPN .I worked as an LPN while studying in school at the same time.I thought all my sacrifices and perseverance to be an RN will be worth it.and now I wanna be an RN.who passes a nursing exam without studying?

i felt deceived, discriminated coz i didnt graduate from their school.I am the only student who did not graduate from their LPN program.i already took out a loan to go to school and they deny me? it's their fault for giving me wrong test info to study for.

I complained to school nursing director she will not help me.I told her what happened and I said its not fair for me not to get in just because they gave me the wrong test information to study for.i said I could have gotten a better grade and even got in RN school if only i was told to study for the right material.I challenged her to let me take the test again but she will not let me.I confronted the school advisor why she told me to study for the wrong material.she said she tells every nursing student to study for this and she didnt know LPN to RN students have a different test to take.Really? How come I'm the only student who didnt know I'm supposed to take the exam on nursing topics? I asked the other test takers, the LPN students who graduated from Baker. they said they already were told by the school their exam is on nursing topics, not general subjects.

I felt deceived, discriminated.I feel like they purposely conspired to give me the wrong test to study for because I am the only student who did not graduate from their LPN program and this is the last year they will accept LPNs who didnt graduate from their school. They know I have a good chance of getting in with my 4.0 GPA and my nursing experience as LPN. So they made money off of me after making me take all the pre-reqs from my student loans only to deny me the very last minute when its their fault?I even took their optional classes jsut so they know I really am serious to get in RN school.I wasted my time and money.I should have went to a different school if only I know they will do this to me.I want to sue them. This is not fair, discriminatory and unjust. Please help me.

If you are considering suing the school, then you need the advice of an attorney. We can not give legal advice here. However, the advice I would give you would be to save time, money, and further heartache by finding another avenue to continue your education. It definitely sounds as if this school is not for you.

10 years to be an lpn.... doesn't add up.

why did it take you 10 years to become an LPN? If you need to consult a lawyer if you are considering suing.
