Waiting on Ivy Tech acceptance letters thread

Published

I thought it might be nice to have a place for us to vent our frustrations with waiting until May 30th or so when letters start going out. I know I'm going nuts already!

How about introductions and a little info about each person?

I'm applying to both Bloomington and Indy-Lawrence for the Fall 2009 ASN programs. I turned in my apps this week with 4 As on the pre-reqs and a 90.0 on the TEAS. My eventual goal is at least getting a BSN, and if I feel like doing homework long enough, an MSN of some sort. I work full time now, but will hopefully only work part time if I get accepted. I'm so antsy to start preparing and finally feel like all of this is real!

Hi amd! Hope you get your letter soon!

LOL cthomas...maybe face wrinkles are like brain wrinkles - more surface area for the knowledge to go once you're full? :)

I was thinking of signing up through Ivy Tech for the 8hr course (thanks to IndyIvy)...that surely meets all the requirements right? $25 sounds like a heck of a lot cheaper than this one would be, although I'll have to find out for sure.

Still nothing from the Bloomington campus.

Got my Hep B vaccine record and titres today, and got everything in order to get a copy of my tetorifice booster from a few years ago. It's great being able to plan stuff!!

Nothing from Fort Wayne today. :( I'm going crazy over here!

Ahcgirl,

I took Microbiology last semester and really loved it. It really wasn't very hard to get an A. On the lab reports, they just needed to be completed and you got all the points. There were quizzes that were done on blackboard each week, so you could use your book and notes. The tests were also pretty easy if you studied and I really didn't have to study too much in that class. I really enjoyed it and I did not think I would. I can help you if you need help. Do you have anything lined up for CPR classes yet? I really hope we get letters today. I don't want to wait anymore!!

thats a relief. i am really enjoying micro so far. my online classes don't start until june 8th. i am employed through AWS and we are required to update our CPR annually. they pay for it and i hope it will fly for the program. i just recertified last month. yipee! i talked to J.D. in the nursing department today and she said that she had all of the letters on her desk right now. She said that they were putting all of the information in the system and we should have them in our hands in a few short days. AHHHHHHHHH!! i asked her what the cutoff was and she wouldn't tell me. only a few more days! i don't know why you are so anxious, you're in! i wonder how signing up for classes is going to work and when we will get our scrubs and all of that...

Do you just have one kid (xander)? is he in school or daycare when you are in school?

I took Micro in class this past Fall and it's probably one of my favorite classes ever!

i am really liking it too! did you get a letter from indy yet???

I found out about the first aid class from the Columbus info session. I figured it should be have everything we need since they recommended it, and they teach it. I'm surprised they don't have more classes available.

What is AED?

Does anyone have a running tally of who got in where????

Did anyone apply to Kokomo LPN program, however, got accepted into another region? Just curious, as Kokomo letters are being sent today.

Just wanted to tell everyone who is still waiting to hang in there and I hope your letters come soon!

Thanks mhnice! I am hoping tomorrow I will have something in my mailbox!

Hi Indy,

AED = automatic electronic defibrillator

Hi! I'm new here, so thought I'd just jump in. I got my acceptance letter last Thursday for the Lawrence Campus ASN program starting this fall. I ended up with 4 A's and an 87 on my TEAS, for a total of 210 (with those 3 great region points).

I'm hoping to start working immediately after graduation, but do want to continue on to get my MSN.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
