Waiting on Ivy Tech acceptance letters thread

Published

I thought it might be nice to have a place for us to vent our frustrations with waiting until May 30th or so when letters start going out. I know I'm going nuts already!

How about introductions and a little info about each person?

I'm applying to both Bloomington and Indy-Lawrence for the Fall 2009 ASN programs. I turned in my apps this week with 4 As on the pre-reqs and a 90.0 on the TEAS. My eventual goal is at least getting a BSN, and if I feel like doing homework long enough, an MSN of some sort. I work full time now, but will hopefully only work part time if I get accepted. I'm so antsy to start preparing and finally feel like all of this is real!

I called the Nursing office at Indy to see what they recommend, and the girl didn't know. she said they will give info about that at our meeting on the 25th.

surely I won't have to get all of my immunizations again, right???? What happens next?

Ok...still nothing from Columbus. I did call, though, and ask how much time we will have to confirm, and she said 3 weeks.

Help! I am trying to get a copy of my immunization records. Nobody has them! My Pediatrician discarded them after 10 years of not going there anymore, they said call my elem school, they had me call my high school, they don't have them either. what do i do????

IndyIvy, Have your family dr order the appropriate titers to check immunity. Some providers require proof that you are not immune, before they will administer vaccines to adults. My daughter, a nursing student at Indiana Wesleyan, had to have a varicella titer drawn to prove she was not immune, before Marion Co Health Dept would administer the vaccine. Also, it may be a covered benefit through your health insurance, so you might check with them. Be sure to use your "preferred providers" for maximum benefit coverage! Hope that helps!

Kokomo letters are here! I got in to the ASN program! Finally the wait is over!

Congrats!!!!:yeah::yeah::yeah:

Yeah, that's great thanks!!

I just called the Marion County Health dept and they have a copy of my records AND they will fax for free! awesome! some of them were in Greenwood though, and that Pedi never turned them in to the Johnson County Health Dept so I'm out of luck on that. I will try SusanLJ's suggestion (thanks!!!)

Congrats to those who got in KoKomo!!!!!!!

Woot abbs1033! So happy for you! What a test in patience! :yeah: :yeah: :yeah:

thank you! Thanks for listening to me vent. Hearing your guy's frustrations and success stories has helped!

I was so excited. I thought I had received my acceptance letter for the ASN program in Fort Wayne today, but it was only information about my distance learning classes! Bummer!! I guess I will have to continue waiting.

Wow, still nothing from the Bloomington campus. Get with it people, seriously!

But it's amazing how much calmer I am now. I didn't even think about checking the mail until I was clocking out at work. It's a nice change from last week!
