Waiting on Ivy Tech acceptance letters thread

Published

I thought it might be nice to have a place for us to vent our frustrations with waiting until May 30th or so when letters start going out. I know I'm going nuts already!

How about introductions and a little info about each person?

I'm applying to both Bloomington and Indy-Lawrence for the Fall 2009 ASN programs. I turned in my apps this week with 4 As on the pre-reqs and a 90.0 on the TEAS. My eventual goal is at least getting a BSN, and if I feel like doing homework long enough, an MSN of some sort. I work full time now, but will hopefully only work part time if I get accepted. I'm so antsy to start preparing and finally feel like all of this is real!

Hi, everyone! I just found this message board and it has really helped me to not feel so alone in this process. I applied to Columbus also and I am so frustrated there is still nothing in the mail! Congrats to everyone who has made it so far and thanks for all the support you have already given me by reading your posts!

:wlcmblks: Welcome! This is a great support network. I am sure you will hear something soon!

Ok, so for anyone waiting on Columbus, I emailed the nursing office today. She said they are still waiting for confirmation on some info and tallying scores. They hope to send letters this week. :sniff: I don't know how much longer I can wait!

amd2123- Welcome aboard! (virtual hug).

Good luck on getting in Columbus!

Welcome, amd2123! I, too, am waiting for Columbus (live in Greenwood) and am going on vacation the 6th through the 10th. I wonder what the deadline will be to call and confirm...? Also, I feel bad for people who have applied to more than one campus because they might have to confirm to the other campus before they even get a letter from Columbus!

Just got my RSN acceptance letter for Fall 09' !

Congratulations!! Such great news!

Oh yeah, I got and accepted my financial aid as well. I'm trying to do the counseling, but the site keeps having errors. The lender's website, not Ivy Tech's website.

I wonder if the Ivy Tech bookstore has any "Ivy Tech Nursing" shirts or sweatshirts. I would totally buy one :)

I have never seen any at Ivy Tech but with the wonders of the internet and local print shops, I'm sure we could create our own for a reasonable price!

I sometimes wish I was a bit older so I wouldn't get mistaken for young and careless - plus I'd love all of that wisdom that comes with the years :)

I guess in the end, they're all just numbers!

did you mean wrinkles? Not wisdom? I'd rather call them wisdom! Sometimes I see so much "wisdom" on my face that I no longer recognize myself! :bdyhdclp:

Hey Hey!

I haven't had internet access for a few days now but I'm back online and have been dying to tell you that...

I got in the Indy RN program too! Woo Hoo!!

Congrats Indy Ivy!! YAY!!! :rotfl::roll:rotfl:

Congrats INDYIVY!!!! :balloons::balloons:

I was wondering about my immunization records too, and now I need to go back and see where you all said you're taking CPR! Do you think they will go into detail about these things at Orientation?

I am sure they go over all the stuff then. Too bad they didn't send us the info with our letters so we could get started. I looked through last year's accepted students thread and found some info. I heard titers are expensive and I have a shot record but it's very difficult to read, so I'll be getting the immunizations again. I've heard it doesn't hurt to get them refreshed anyway. I already started my Hep B series. I know we need the two-step TB process, MMR, tetorifice, and varicella. Your local health department should offer them at a very reasonable cost. As far as CPR goes, last year the students said the class had to be approved by the AHA or Red Cross and specifically be for healthcare providers. They must do AED in the class as well. I took the Basic Life Support for healthcare providers course through the AHA @ Wayne Township Fire Department last week and would recommend it to those in the Indy Area. It was only $25, much cheaper than other courses I looked into.

I just might be the baby of our bunch...I'm 24?

So far I think so. I'm 27.

Just wanted to tell everyone who is still waiting to hang in there and I hope your letters come soon!
