Waiting on Ivy Tech acceptance letters thread

Published

I thought it might be nice to have a place for us to vent our frustrations with waiting until May 30th or so when letters start going out. I know I'm going nuts already!

How about introductions and a little info about each person?

I'm applying to both Bloomington and Indy-Lawrence for the Fall 2009 ASN programs. I turned in my apps this week with 4 As on the pre-reqs and a 90.0 on the TEAS. My eventual goal is at least getting a BSN, and if I feel like doing homework long enough, an MSN of some sort. I work full time now, but will hopefully only work part time if I get accepted. I'm so antsy to start preparing and finally feel like all of this is real!

for those of you taking micro online thru terre haute is it keeping you as busy as it is me so far? the is my 1st online class. It seems so broad, the 1st test is chapters 1-4 & that seems like an enormous amount of material. there are 247 definitions to in those four chapters. if you are taking this class, do you have any tips for studying for the 1st test?

Hey Hey!

I haven't had internet access for a few days now but I'm back online and have been dying to tell you that...

I got in the Indy RN program too! Woo Hoo!!

I'll be seeing some of you at the June Meeting. If you meet up before or after, let me know....I'm there! Should we all wear red shirts or daisies in our hair so that we can find each other out of the 120 ppl (RN/LPN) that will be at the meeting? haha!

I feel like I get to start this program with a support group. It would be hard to start not knowing a single person (can you say Anxiety!?!?!).

Congrats to those who have been accepted, sorry to those who didn't get in the program they wanted, and good luck to those still awaiting letters!

:yeah::yeah: CONGRATULATIONS INDYIVY :yeah::yeah:
xandersmama,

yep, i am taking comm and technical writing online and microbiology on campus this summer. but honestly if i don't get in for fall i am going to drop something. i only have one co-req left to take. Are you taking any classes this summer?

I am taking COM 102 and CHEM 101 online. Maybe we are in the same communications class. I am taking CRN 14595. Which one are you taking?

Congrats IndyIvy! Can't wait to meet everyone on the 25th.

One question, does anyone (all you "older" students, like myself) have any idea where to go about finding your immunization records? I am in my mid-30's, my pediatrician from childhood is retired...hum..what to do. I got an immunization record sheet from the Anderson campus, and I am assuming we will get one when we go to the Indy info meeting. I am not sure how and where to track down this info...I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, so Indiana might have different record keeping policies. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Specializes in MICU - CCRN, IR, Vascular Surgery.

I'm wondering about immunization records as well. I was born in Minnesota, then a few years later moved to California, and then in 7th grade moved to Indiana. I've no doubt got records all over the place! Do I count as an older student? I'll be 29 in July.

Hi Abbs1033

I am waiting for Kokomo also, I have'nt received anything today either. Who did you talk to in the office?

Hi Samulation. I beleive it was April who I talked to.

Congrats INDYIVY!!!! :balloons::balloons:

I was wondering about my immunization records too, and now I need to go back and see where you all said you're taking CPR! Do you think they will go into detail about these things at Orientation?

Congrats IndyIvy! Sorry I missed putting that in my last post!

I'm taking a CPR class through my work this Thursday. It's a class for providers with the AED defibrillators thing it looks like. Plus it's free since I work there AND I get paid to be there since it's during work hours. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me ;P

Congrats IndyIvy! Can't wait to meet everyone on the 25th.

I "think" I may be the oldest since I've celebrated the 18 anniversary of my 29thh birthday (MommaSue - have you seem my readers?:specs:) I was planning on getting titers done when I get my physical. I know I had the mumps and measles, and I have the old polio scar on my upper arm from the wierd vaccinations they used to give in the 1960s!! I was also in the Air Force, so I've been immunized against so much that I'm probably preserved!

Got acceptance letter Saturday for Fall 09' to Indy ASN program! 212 pts. Change of career for me at 46. Used to b an engineer

Congrats to you and IndyIvy! :smiley_aa:flwrhrts::hngon::nmbrn:

I just might be the baby of our bunch...I'm 24?
