Waiting on Ivy Tech acceptance letters thread

Published

I thought it might be nice to have a place for us to vent our frustrations with waiting until May 30th or so when letters start going out. I know I'm going nuts already!

How about introductions and a little info about each person?

I'm applying to both Bloomington and Indy-Lawrence for the Fall 2009 ASN programs. I turned in my apps this week with 4 As on the pre-reqs and a 90.0 on the TEAS. My eventual goal is at least getting a BSN, and if I feel like doing homework long enough, an MSN of some sort. I work full time now, but will hopefully only work part time if I get accepted. I'm so antsy to start preparing and finally feel like all of this is real!

Melissa, I'm sure you'll be able to find a way to make it all work. It's amazing how much strength we all have even if we have no idea where it comes from :wink2:

hey xandersmomma! did you take anp102 this last semester? i think i know who you are!!! wow! 217 points is impressive. i am nervous. i only have 207. i am guessing we will have our letters tuesday. i hope so. i am dying here.

Ahcgirl,

I was in ANP 102 this past semester! Were you in my class? I am not sure that I know who you are. Have we talked before? Maybe I do know. I'm not sure. Anyway, good luck with getting your letter. I think that 207 is a great score, but I guess we won't know for sure until we get our acceptance letters. I was really excited about getting a good TEAS score, but I still feel nervous about everything ahead of me. It has already been a lot of hard work getting this far. I don't know very much about how hard the actual program is and it makes me nervous. Mind over matter. Somehow it is all going to work out. Right? I hope we get our letters soon.

Yeah, I'm going to keep working. We really don't have a choice, we depend on both our incomes to get by. I am a little worried but I think it will be okay. Sometimes work gets crazy but I also have a LOT of down time, which is why I'm always able to post here and I also get a lot of studying done here. I work 12 hours shifts on Friday and Saturday nights, and those are usually pretty quiet around here. Knock on wood!! I am just going to have to really be disciplined about managing my time and not fart around on All Nurses! :)

We'll all yell at you and kick you off if we see you're posting too much! We'll give you the parental "get to work" guilt trip!

Got acceptance letter Saturday for Fall 09' to Indy ASN program! 212 pts. Change of career for me at 46. Used to b an engineer

xandersmama,

hey, i had dr m. i think you were in my class. we talked a few times. if you are who i think you are, you invited me to your house for an "alcoholic beverage" after the final. LOL. is that you? i am short with dark hair. i usually sat right up in the front on the left side of the room in lecture. i said that you were a freak of nature because you got a 94 on your teas... does that ring a bell? hehe

Ok. I definitely know who you are now. We did not go back to my house. Several of us went to El Azteca for a margarita celebration. You should have came! It was very needed after all that stress. I felt so relieved to be done with that semester. I have no idea how many people applied for fall at fort wayne. Not a clue. I have wondered the same thing many times. Are you taking classes this summer?

Specializes in Neurology.

I just tried to check my financial aid, but the site is down (*whimper*:o)

After what seemed like forever, the site is finally back up :)

Specializes in MICU - CCRN, IR, Vascular Surgery.

tspaethe - Congrats!!

Man, seeing how many Indy people are here, it's *almost* making me wish I lived closer to Indy ;P I took a class there last semester and it was 150 miles round trip - not something I'd like to do every day!

Oh yeah, I got and accepted my financial aid as well. I'm trying to do the counseling, but the site keeps having errors. The lender's website, not Ivy Tech's website.

I wonder if the Ivy Tech bookstore has any "Ivy Tech Nursing" shirts or sweatshirts. I would totally buy one :)

Lennonninja...they dont!! I keep looking because I want a hoodie so bad!

Can you go straight to the Sallie Mae website and do the counseling? I don't know if they are linked to the same place, but I was able to do it straight from there a couple weeks ago!

xandersmama,
