Waiting on Ivy Tech acceptance letters thread

Published

I thought it might be nice to have a place for us to vent our frustrations with waiting until May 30th or so when letters start going out. I know I'm going nuts already!

How about introductions and a little info about each person?

I'm applying to both Bloomington and Indy-Lawrence for the Fall 2009 ASN programs. I turned in my apps this week with 4 As on the pre-reqs and a 90.0 on the TEAS. My eventual goal is at least getting a BSN, and if I feel like doing homework long enough, an MSN of some sort. I work full time now, but will hopefully only work part time if I get accepted. I'm so antsy to start preparing and finally feel like all of this is real!

Thanks again for the congrats everyone! It's scary to be an older student who has been out of school since 1992, so it's so nice to have this site with all the supportive people on it.

wow, I go AWOL for a few days, and the number of posts explode!!! CSAB - I am so proud of you! 96! Yay! You are so in come Spring! Congrats to the Greencastle people!

Been busyy this week finishing up the school year (I work in an elementary school clinic), so the week has flown. Now, of course, I will camp by my mailbox waiting .....

Does anyone know of a good phebotomy course in the Indy or Anderson area? I looked into Med Tech. it's very convienent (4 full Saturdays), but it costs $799 ($699 if you pay in full prior to start of the course)

MommaCon! You're baaaccckkkk! YAY! Hope your school year wrapped up well. Yep, lots happening on here the past few days...... csab thinks she's "older" :trout: (snort!) I don't know of a phlebotomy course, but don't think you'll really need a separate one outside of Ivy Tech's program. I'll let you practice on me once/if/when we're in - it isn't hard. I'll even share a horror story about what happened to a friend of mine in class (ahem!) "several" years ago!

:crying2: Mailman came today, no letter from Evansville :crying2: and the waiting goes on.

Oh, I know, csab is a sweet young thing compared to the Mommas! :p I can relate to feeling overwhelmed and scared going back to school csab, I felt that way when I started in 2007. I freaked when I aced my first two courses!

Oh, I can't wait to hear the story MommaSue! I just got a new PRN job doing healthfairs, but I need to be certified. I'm letting my EMT cert expire, so I thought I'd just get a phelb cert. Didn't realize it was so expensive! I've also had a bad experience with a new nurse trying to start an IV on me, 4 tries and three blown veins! My arm was purple & swollen! I want to be the RN who starts a beautiful line quickly and pain free!

My first gig is at the race this weekend (500), isn't that cool?!:D

Well ladies so at age 40 I'm a young thing huh. . . I doubt you ladies are pushing retirement age or you probably wouldn't be doing this. ;o)

mail came today..nothing from INDY or Anderson. As I walked slowly down my driveway I thought- I was preparing myself...do I scream and run back to the house, or do I scream and happy dance right at the mailbox? Or runaway with the reject letter....nothing. Tomorrow is another day!:uhoh21:

Well csab, I recently celebrated the 18th anniversary of my 29th birthday!:smackingf

Poor Sunshine! :vlin:This is going to be the longest week yet, isn't it? I'll bet next Saturday we all will be posting congrats and celebrating!

No mail from Indy or Bloomington today, only junk mail :(

Ahhh I can't believe we're already at the point that we're even watching for the letters!! I'm so anxious now, but I am going to be sooo nervous to start if I actually do get accepted!

Chris- we should meet for coffee and strategist how we can attack ANP! I know I will have to take it over to get that A and join you in the Spring.

Oops, nice typo on my part... strategize (make a plan)! You get what I mean! LOL

I just called the indy campus to check when they are mailing and the lady that answered said that they have been on break the last two weeks and wouldn't be back until next Tuesday! She said that she didn't know if they worked on the letters or even looked through the applicants while they are break! What does that mean!! Surely it takes longer that three days to go through the applicants make out the letters, and mail them!!! I'm going to be sick!!! :barf02:

If it helps, I am not so sure that they were on vacation for the entire two weeks, They were "off" until the 20th, which I found out in my panic to get my final transcript to the Indy office by the 18th (which I found out via email from AK that they would look up my scores and I did not need to turn in my transcript after all) She emailed me on the 18th and when I was in their offices attempting to drop off my transcript the week before, the door was locked, but I swear they were in there, the lights were on and they didn't have the shade pulled down on the office door. Maybe, just maybe, they were trying to work uninterrupted...maybe????

So hears to a few more days of stalking our postal workers...and don't forget, Monday's a holiday...no mail that day!!
